‘The View’ Cuts Off Meghan McCain When She Criticizes Cohosts Anti-Christian, Anti Pence Remarks

Some of ‘The View’ cohosts attacked Christians and the beliefs of Vice President Mike Pence during a show, describing Pence’s Christian beliefs as “mental illness.” They apparently caught some backlash from it. On Thursday, Meghan McCain, the Republican cohost tried to criticize her cohosts for their actions. instructed Whoopi Goldberg to cut off cohost Meghan McCain before she could properly condemn her cohosts for their comments about Mike Pence’s Christian faith on Thursday.

Here’s just some of the flack “The View” caught from people.

From Fox News:

“It has become jarring how fixated the show is on politics and how slanted the table is,” Mediaite columnist Joseph Wulfsohn told Fox News.

Wulfsohn said it’s ABC News’ prerogative if network executives decide that having four outspoken liberals and a single “token” conservative is “profitable” but the decision “does a great disservice” by marginalizing the view of roughly half the country.

The Hill media columnist Joe Concha thinks “it would be wise for ABC News to divorce itself” from “The View.”

“It’s a pure opinion and infotainment program and therefore should be under its entertainment division,” Concha told Fox News.

Fox News’ Todd Starnes slammed Behar in a scathing op-ed, saying it’s “understandable that a Christophobe like Behar be dumbfounded by such a concept.”

Starnes added that “if hearing the voice (of) God means (you are) mentally insane” then he is crazy himself.

“If ABC News wants to employ an anti-Christian bigot – that is their business,” he wrote.

The cohosts who had been involved in making the remarks tried to back out of the controversy. That’s how you know that the flack was a lot.

From Daily Caller:

The ladies addressed the controversy they created two days prior after Joy Behar said Pence might be “mentally ill” if he believes that Jesus is talking to him, insisting that it was a bad joke and they never intended to offend anyone.

“I don’t mean to offend people but apparently I keep doing it,” Behar said, noting that she is a Christian herself. “I give money to the church.”

Well, that’s certainly the sign of a good Christian, how much money someone shells out. Geesh.

But Meghan McCain, the token ‘Republican’ voice on the panel weighed in with. some of her own criticism for the group explaining, “I’ve had a very hard time over the last two days with this.”

She said they claimed to be tolerant but were often intolerant of those with views that were different from theirs.

“I think we are living in an incredibly divisive times right now,” McCain continued. “As a Republican, I feel like sometimes liberals say, ‘we need to be tolerant to everyone, we need to be tolerant of everyone,’ except pro-lifers, except Trump supporters, except gun owners, except for everyone in the red in the middle of the country.”

“I’m going to stop you because that’s not — that’s not actually true,” Whoopi Goldberg said, cutting McCain off. “And I’m stopping you for a reason.”

Why was Whoopi stopping her?

Because producers were telling her to shut McCain down.

“We don’t want to talk about liberals and what they’re doing,” Goldberg continued.

“I’m trying to get out of this because this is what they’ve asked me to do,” she said, her eyes shifting backstage as Behar laughed. “So, if you could do it sort of quickly…”

McCain then said she was a big admirer of Mike Pence and his family and that she wanted to apologize to him and his family.

McCain seemed defeated by the back and forth and used her remaining time to apologize to Vice President Pence and his family. “This is a show where we respect one another and we respect everyone else in the country.”

Maybe she does.

But that sure doesn’t hold for the rest of the group.

Her show can’t even let her properly criticize the others without shutting her down. Whereas the others are given free range with whatever anti-Republican, anti-Christian statement they drop.
