Arizona Sen. John McCain killed a ‘skinny’ repeal of Obamacare in 2017. He’s already off to an equally worse 2018, joining a bipartisan group of senators who plan to propose a DACA amnesty bill WITHOUT building a border wall.
This is why Democrats lost in 2016.
This is also why RINO’s like McCain are being forced to retire.
According to reports, McCain is working with another pro-amnesty globalist in Delaware Democrat Chris Coons to introduce a bill to give amnesty to the DACA Dreamers.
The bill will also tell President Trump exactly where he can stick his border wall as McCain’s masterpiece will not include the funding that Trump is demanding.
More from Wall Street Journal:
Republican Sen. John McCain, Democratic Sen. Chris Coons say they will propose path to citizenship for DACA participants, but no wall
The government’s current funding expires at 12:01 a.m. Friday. Immigration has become entangled in the spending negotiations since President Donald Trump last year ended an Obama-era program that protects young people who were brought to the U.S. illegally as children, known as Dreamers.
Senate Armed Services Committee Chairman John McCain (R., Ariz.) and Sen. Chris Coons (D., Del.) plan to unveil a proposal that offers a path to citizenship for Dreamers and orders a comprehensive study to determine what border-security measures are needed. But the bill stops well short of almost all of the president’s demands—including immediate funding for the wall along the southern border—and is likely to meet a chilly reception from conservative Republicans.
Still, Mr. McCain, who was diagnosed with brain cancer last summer and has been working from Arizona since late 2017, retains powerful sway among his GOP colleagues. His bill with Mr. Coons could also benefit from good timing, as the March 5 deadline draws closer and lawmakers grapple with the political consequences of failing to reach any agreement.
“It’s time we end the gridlock so we can quickly move on to completing a long-term budget agreement that provides our men and women in uniform the support they deserve,” Mr. McCain said in a statement Sunday.
There’s been a lot of comment on the release of the Nunes FISA abuse memo. As expected, Democrats are desperately trying to spin it. So perhaps it should not come as a surprise that their adopted son, Sen. John McCain (not really Republican-AZ), should attack the release of the memo.
The memo reveals how the DOJ and FBI senior officials used the Democratic propaganda by the DNC and Hillary Clinton, and mislead the court to be able to get a warrant and spy on a Trump adviser.
But that doesn’t apparently bother McCain, who has declared war on Trump and the Republican party.
McCain claimed that the release of the memo doesn’t serve the interests of Americans, “only Putin’s.”
McCain said in a statement:
In 2016, the Russian government engaged in an elaborate plot to interfere in an American election and undermine our democracy. Russia employed the same tactics it has used to influence elections around the world, from France and Germany to Ukraine, Montenegro, and beyond. Putin’s regime launched cyber attacks and spread disinformation with the goal of sowing chaos and weakening faith in our institutions. And while we have no evidence that these efforts affected the outcome of our election, I fear they succeeded in fueling political discord and dividing us from one another.
The latest attacks on the FBI and Department of Justice serve no American interests – no party’s, no president’s, only Putin’s. The American people deserve to know all of the facts surrounding Russia’s ongoing efforts to subvert our democracy, which is why Special Counsel Mueller’s investigation must proceed unimpeded. Our nation’s elected officials, including the president, must stop looking at this investigation through the warped lens of politics and manufacturing partisan sideshows. If we continue to undermine our own rule of law, we are doing Putin’s job for him.
McCain views criticism of the FBI and the DOJ as harmful and helping Putin?
What about criticism of the President and his legitimacy as the president by making up allegations of collusion, election compromise, then weaponizing the FBI to help spread the lie?
Who is really doing the work of Putin here?
Every single person pushing the Russian conspiracy and the individuals in the FBI who helped that along for political reasons.
But, of course, McCain has his own reasons for trying to ding the memo. Because of his own involvement in trying to take down candidate Trump with Democratic paid-for propaganda.
