Liberal writer delivers vile response to families grieving brutal murder of their daughters

There can be no doubt as to with whom the progressive socialist left finds sympathy. They said nothing when it came to the death of young American dreamer Kate Steinle at the hands of a felon criminal illegal immigrant given sanctuary due to leftist policies in San Francisco. Even during the trial, nothing about the criminal illegal immigrant status of Kate’s killer was allowed to be admitted into the court. And when the liberal progressive left secured an acquittal for the murderer, they celebrated and said the decision sent a message to President Trump. No, it sent a message to America.

This past Tuesday, during the State of the Union address, President Trump told a very heartbreaking story, one that we’ve shared here, but most of America didn’t know. He recognized and honored the parents of two young American dreamers, teenage girls, Nisa Mickens and Kayla Cuevas. These two young girls, age 15 and 16, were beaten to death by members of the violent El Salvadoran gang MS-13 who used baseball bats and machetes. President Trump pressed the issue that the current illegal immigration policies, supported by the liberal progressive left, failed those parents, and failed Nisa and Kayla, resulting in their deaths.

War on American women, who have dreams?

But, the progressive socialist left just doesn’t get it and their response to this horrific murder, the loss of two wonderful young girls, has been nothing short of despicable. To frame these parents as just “props” used by President Trump…well, what do you call the illegal immigrants invited by the Democrats to the SOTU address? However, a recent piece in the Washington Post highlights just how delusional, demented, and out of touch the progressive socialist left has become.

As reported in the Washington Post, written by José Miguel Cruz the director of research in the Kimberly Green Latin American and Caribbean Center at Florida International University, who has conducted research on Central American gangs since 1996, “President Trump claimed Tuesday night in the State of the Union address that the changes he wants to U.S. immigration laws are needed to keep Americans safe. The central piece of evidence in his argument was MS-13, the deadly gang also known as Mara Salvatrucha.

“Tonight, I am calling on the Congress to finally close the deadly loopholes that have allowed MS-13 and other criminal gangs to break into our country,” Trump said. He also invited the parents of two young women killed by MS-13 members in Long Island to be his guests at the speech.

But in pointing to MS-13 to try to scare Americans into harsh new immigration restrictions, Trump is overstating the danger the gang poses here in the United States. Worse, by using the gang to demonize all Latino immigrants, Trump is building inner-city walls that alienate communities and risk making criminal organizations more powerful, both here and overseas.

MS-13 is considered one of the most violent youth gangs in the Western Hemisphere. According to various estimates, more than 30,000 MS-13 gang members are roaming the streets of what’s known as the “Northern Triangle” of Central America, a region made up of El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras.”

But it is the deduction the writer comes to that is truly disturbing.

” Things are different in the United States. According to Justice Department estimates, MS-13 is a small gang, compared with the Bloods, Crips and Almighty Latin King Nation. The estimated 10,000 MS-13 gang members in the United States account for less than 1 percent of the estimated 1.4 million total gang members in the country.

According to CNN, 104 of the 1,300 gang members arrested during an Immigration and Customs Enforcement sweep last May — 8 percent — were linked to MS-13. And the gang did not come from south of the border. MS-13 is as American-made as Google — or, for that matter, as Trump.

MS-13 was founded in Los Angeles in the 1980s by children of Salvadoran immigrants who fled a brutal civil war, a war which was substantially funded by the United States. The early members were teenagers who hung out on street corners and bonded around reefer and rock concerts, not unlike thousands of other kids living in Southern California’s underprivileged communities.

Things started to change when many of the same kids were arrested during massive “anti-gang” police operations in the 1980s and ultimately sent to juvenile centers across California. Those sweeps, part of a militaristic zero-tolerance response to the nation’s social problems, failed to acknowledge that such problems were the direct result of underfunded social programs and systemic marginalization. Instead of serving as a deterrent, they further weakened social ties and increased exclusion, and thus facilitated the transformation and consolidation of MS-13 into a serious criminal enterprise. It was in the juvenile centers and prisons that local kids — joined soon by immigrants — interacted with hardened criminals and learned how to run a gang. The criminal bent that shaped MS-13 emerged from U.S. prisons and juvenile centers, not from countries south of the border.”

This is the type of politicized academic blather that gets Americans killed. First of all, we should not be “alarmed” because MS-13 is a small gang with “only” 10,000 members in the United States. Well, sir, let me remind you that 10,000 is the size of a U.S. Army light infantry division. I don’t want a criminal illegal immigrant gang that’s a light infantry division equivalent operating within our borders. Also, it only took 19 Islamic jihadists to kill 3,000 Americans on 9-11. And it was six of these criminal illegal immigrants who killed Nisa and Kayla. Do you think for one minute sir that MS-13 is just a “small gang” to their parents?

Second, the abject absurdity and hypocrisy of this fella who states that MS-13 is El Salvadoran born, yet attempts to blame its growth in America on our law enforcement is disgusting. If there’s one thing the left is very adept at doing it’s blaming the rule of law and its enforcement for everything. Damn, we just need more social welfare programs, like Bill Clinton’s midnight basketball, right? Darn it, we should never seek to eradicate criminal gangs from our streets; we should just talk with them about their feelings and their bad fraternal relationships. Hogwash.

“Militaristic, zero-tolerance response to the nation’s social welfare problems” – that’s the typical progressive socialist excuse for the bad behavior that has overtaken our streets, in mostly urban centers. I recall that the left made the same excuse for the Tsarnaev brothers — just two fellas — and think about the carnage they brought upon innocent runners and bystanders at the Boston Marathon. Yep, we need more social welfare problems.

Third, the insidious argument being made by the liberal progressive left that President Trump was equating their DACA recipients to criminal illegal immigrant gang members is completely dishonest, and reflects the intellectual dishonesty of the left. What President Trump is stating is that we’re not granting amnesty until we rectify the situation, and yes, having 10,000 criminal illegal immigrant gang members is not fear-mongering; it’s part of the responsibility of our federal government. It’s obvious the left fails to grasp that premise. President Trump isn’t holding DACA recipients hostage; he wants to end Americans being held hostage to criminal illegal immigrants and gangs.

What has been made incredibly clear to all of us is that the progressive socialist left and their open borders radical leftist Latino allies do not care about how many Americans, particularly women, we bury. They want their illegal immigrants to have citizenship. The left doesn’t care at all that those parents were crying their eyes out and will for many years to come. The left wants their illegal immigrants. The left doesn’t want a solution to our illegal immigrant situation or protection of our borders. The left sees our law enforcement officers as preventing their ultimate goal: getting their illegal immigrants.

Again, let me reiterate what the writer states, “…in pointing to MS-13 to try to scare Americans into harsh new immigration restrictions, Trump is overstating the danger the gang poses here in the United States. Worse, by using the gang to demonize all Latino immigrants, Trump is building inner-city walls that alienate communities and risk making criminal organizations more powerful, both here and overseas.”

President Trump is not trying to scare Americans by speaking to a reality faced by the parents of Nisa and Kayla. President Trump is not overstating a danger. Kate Steinle, Nisa, and Kayla are dead, just like Joshua Wilkerson of Arizona. Addressing the issue of MS-13 is not a demonization of Latino communities or LEGAL immigrants, unless the LEGAL Latino community is embracing criminal illegal immigrant gangs…which they are not.  Mr. Cruz, stop the blame America line of the progressive socialist left, especially because we seek to live by the rule of law, not the passion of emotion.

No one who believes in our Constitutional Republic and the American way of life is alienated in America. And sir, if you’re so delusional to believe enforcing our laws makes criminal organizations more powerful, take your Obama-esque “strategic patience” surrender money attitude and go find a safe space while brave and courageous Americans protect your weak, feckless self.
