Ok, it’s Friday, and according to everyone, on Monday we’ll hear the “plan” on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). I’ve stated before and will state again, there can be no “clean” amnesty for DACA. Our children, here legally, have their own dreams and one of those is to live in a Constitutional Republic that regards the rule of law and provides them safety and security.
That means if there is to be a solution for DACA, there must be a solution for our illegal immigration issue — no, not undocumented workers. There must be a border security system centered on a wall as well as other integrated systems. We must end the diversity (lottery) and chain migration visa programs. And there must be an end to the absurdity called “sanctuary” cities and states for illegal immigrants.
Now, if the progressive socialist left finds these terms unacceptable…oh well. I love when the left uses the tired ol’ line, “we are a nation of immigrants” to suit their ideological agenda. We are a nation of legal immigrants, and a nation of laws, and this disregard and disrespect of both has to end.
And here’s a major reason why.
As reported by the Center for Immigration Studies (CIS), “More than 500 individuals who obtained DACA benefits that were later revoked due to criminal and/or gang involvement apparently are still living in the country and at large, according to statistics provided by USCIS to Sen. Chuck Grassley, chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
These cases are 25 percent of those who lost DACA status due to criminal and/or gang activity as of November 2017. Only about 30 percent of the ex-DACA criminal aliens have been removed or were in ICE custody as of November 2017.
USCIS provided the following breakdown of the outcome of the cases of these DACA terminations:
• In ICE Custody: 90
• Released from ICE Custody: 535
• No Record of Removal, Detention or Release by ICE: 940
While it is reassuring that USCIS is revoking DACA benefits for criminal gang members it identifies, it is concerning that almost as many criminal alien DACA beneficiaries have been released as have been removed to their home country. Most of the terminations occurred more than a year before these statistics were compiled. I assume that at least some of the 940 criminals who had DACA but who have not been removed are still in state or local custody serving time, but it is possible, even likely, that some were released by sanctuary jurisdictions, and ICE has not re-apprehended them. USCIS also provided a list of more than 45 gang affiliations of the ex-DACA criminals. It includes some of the most violent and dangerous gangs in the United States, such as MS-13, 18th Street, the Latin Kings, and the Trinitarios. It includes some lesser-known gangs as well, with names like Last Generation Korean Killers and Maniac Latin Disciples.
USCIS has not released information on where these gang members were living, but the gang names sometimes identify their location: Oakland 30 Nortenos, Orange County, Angelino Heights Surenos, East San Diego, Inland Empire, Pacoima Van Nuys Boys, and West Merced Nortenos, all of which are presumably in California. Under current law, gang members are not automatically barred from receiving immigration benefits such as green cards, work permits, and Temporary Protected Status, and clearly many have obtained these benefits in recent years. A fix to this loophole should be a non-negotiable element of any bill that gives amnesty to DACA recipients.”
Ya know what I hate? It’s when folks use lying and deception to further their ideological agenda, their cause…and that aptly describes the progressive socialist left. I despise how I have NEVER heard Nancy Pelosi utter one word of emotion or indignation over the murder of Kate Steinle, a young California woman. A victim of Pelosi’s state of California sanctuary city policy, in her San Francisco congressional district area. I have never heard cryin’ Chuck shed a tear for the two girls from Long Island (Suffolk County) who were savagely murdered by MS-13 gang members.
Do we want to do what is right by those kids brought here illegally by their parents? Sure, but not at the expense of this nation and our sovereignty. And anyone desiring such is truly not fitting to be an elected representative of this nation…after all, they did take an oath to our Constitution.
There must not blanket amnesty grant for the DACA recipients. What we need is to surgically rectify this situation and that means seeking out these gang members and deporting them. It means ensuring we seal our border so this estimated number of 800,000 DACA recipients doesn’t balloon any further. As I’ve stated before, this is about our rule of law, not emotions. One doesn’t make DEALS with our laws, they are law, and no one can be considered above the law. We must have leadership that governs according to our laws, not appeases, accommodates, and compromises based on emotion. Rulers use emotion to institute their will, their tyranny.
Fix DACA, an unconstitutional executive action based on an emotional ideological agenda and political aspirations? Not until you reinstate and enforce the rule of law in America when it comes to our immigration policy. End of lesson!
