It was Albert Einstein who is quoted, famed, for giving us the simplest definition of insanity — doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results. This without any debate or doubt is wholeheartedly applicable to progressive socialists. And they call President Trump mentally unstable?
Just take a gander at what’s happening right now in New Jersey, with their new governor.
As reported by App.com, “Gubernatorial inaugural speeches are often bland, filled with little more than platitudes and calls for both parties to work together toward the common good. Even Gov. Chris Christie’s first inaugural address was vanilla, focusing broadly on the importance of unity and shared values rather than on specific proposals.
To wit: Making a four-year college more affordable and providing free access to community college. Creating “a process” to legalize marijuana. Building affordable housing. Protecting “our hardworking immigrant families.” Ending “massive tax breaks to a handful of select and connected big corporations that don’t need them in the first place.” Investing aggressively in renewable energy.
While specific proposals on many of his agenda items will await his budget address later this winter, he noted that he hopes to implement many of them, with the Legislature’s blessing, long before then. Among them: raising the minimum wage to $15 an hour, providing mandatory sick leave, tightening gun laws, restoring funding for women’s health and Planned Parenthood and removing barriers to voting. And he said he will immediately sign an executive order promoting equal pay for women.”
So ok, let’s take a bet here, where will all the folks in New Jersey run to? Just a word of caution — ok, warning — if y’all are going to run away from this nonsense to a successful red state, leave that leftist progressive socialist foolishness in New Jersey. If there’s one thing folks are growing tired of, it’s the “locust effect” of liberal progressives running away from the failing policies of one state, and bringing them to successful states.
Now, let’s analyze Governor Murphy’s speech. First of all, doesn’t this sound lots like what Barack Obama professed? And how exactly did that work out for the United States from an economic growth perspective? And please, do not respond with empty rhetorical leftist talking points, Obama never achieved three percent GDP growth. We had record unemployment. We had more Americans in poverty and on food stamps. Obama was successful in chasing away private sector businesses out of the United States to the tunes of trillions of dollars in capital. Obama’s tax and spend Keynesian economic principles resulted in our debt expanding from $10.67 trillion to $19.5 trillion in eight years. And what did we get from all of that government spending? No improvements in our infrastructure, and more Americans forced into dependence on government largesse.
So, what governor would want to mirror those same policies at their state level? We all know New Jersey is a state, similar to Illinois, that’s going bankrupt due to massive pension issues. So instead of Gov. Murphy addressing this issue, he speaks wants programs based on even more government spending, meaning higher taxes. And I believe the top one percent of wage earners in New Jersey pay nearly 45 percent of the state taxes…so Governor Murphy, what is a “fair share?”
Governor Murphy seems to be paying no attention to the fact that growth-oriented economic and tax policies lead to companies returning those added resources to their employees. We don’t need government mandating a certain wage standard; just enable the policies that create the growth and prosperity — real growth and prosperity. Gov. Murphy wants to build more “affordable” housing and make college more “affordable” and free community college…so who pays for that? Why not support polices that enable companies to give better wages and therefore the individual citizen can afford their own home?
Gov. Murphy wants to restore funding for women’s health and Planned Parenthood — does that mean Murphy wants to use taxpayer funds to support the murder of unborn children? And why would Murphy state he’s going to use taxpayer funding to support an organization founded by a white supremacist and racist? After all, I thought the Democrats despised white supremacists and racists…ok, I know, kinda hard since the Democrat Party was, and in many ways remains, the party of racism. So, Senator Cory Booker, where is your outrage, feigned as it was, knowing that New Jersey taxpayers will be supporting the vision of a white supremacist and racist, Margaret Sanger, who once referred to blacks as “weeds” and “undesirables”…any “tears of rage” from you on that? Nah, I didn’t think so.
I’m quite sure Gov. Murphy believes, much as in Colorado, that legalizing marijuana will be an economic boon for the Garden State. Well, when he’s confronting the huge drug abuse problem in the state — which will come, and the ensuing health and public safety issues that follow — I guess he’ll want more government spending for drug rehabilitation programs.
Gov. Murphy wants to end “massive tax breaks” for individuals and companies who in his assessment “don’t need them in the first place.” Yep, if there’s one thing about the insanity of the left, it’s their penchant for believing they’re endowed with the right, the power, to determine the winners and losers in life. That’s because they have this inane embrace of the concept of social egalitarianism, reflected in their culture of the participation.
So, prepare for the mass exodus from New Jersey. They’ll be heading down I-95 and will end up in North or South Carolina, perhaps coastal Georgia, or Florida. Just as y’all are leaving, don’t look back in the rearview mirror, lest you have the same fate as Lot’s wife you turned back and gazed upon the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. And we freedom-loving constitutional conservatives ask of you, don’t bring that progressive socialist crap elsewhere. That is insanity.
Stay in New Jersey, California, Illinois, New York, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and the other failing liberal progressive “blue” states if that’s truly want you want. Stop delivering your cancer into red states that are thriving. You’ve destroyed Colorado with the exportation of liberal progressive policies from California, and we know you your sights on Texas. We see your spread into Virginia, and the desire to overtake our Southern states. Just stay where you are and suffer the consequences of electing these chuckleheads, like Gov. Murphy, or Brown and Cuomo.
We’d rather contain this insanity, this cancer, than have it spread throughout our Republic. New Jersey is done, stick a fork in it.
