I just knew there would be someone who’d make a complete butt of themselves on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day. And the usual suspect did not disappoint, that being California Democrat Rep. Maxine “Mad Max” Waters.
As reported by Townhall.com, “Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA) took note of Martin Luther King Day Monday by tweeting that if civil rights icon Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was alive today he would “be marching not only for civil rights & protecting voting rights, but to urge Members of Congress to accept their responsibility to save the U.S. from a dangerous man who has no respect for our Constitution & no concern for strengthening our democracy.”
She claimed that Martin Luther King Jr. would’ve encouraged everyone “to march for the impeachment of Donald Trump.” Rep. Waters has been calling for President Trump’s impeachment since before he was even sworn in as president.
If MLK was alive today, he'd be marching not only for civil rights & protecting voting rights, but to urge Members of Congress to accept their responsibility to save the U.S. from a dangerous man who has no respect for our Constitution & no concern for strengthening our democracy

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. would have encouraged every responsible human being to march for justice, to march for peace, and most of all, to march for the impeachment of Donald Trump. #ThankYouMLK50

Martin Luther King Jr.’s niece Alveda King, however, was supportive of President Trump. In an appearance on Fox on Saturday, she defended him against claims that he was racist. “I’ve been with the president recently quite a bit, and when he signed the legislation [proclamation] making the historic site, Martin Luther King site, in Atlanta, Georgia a national park,” she said. “It was introduced by Congressman John Lewis, and that, believe it or not is one thing the two of them did together.”
I recall when I was in Congress and Barack Obama was president, Congressional Black Caucus Chairman, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver stated to the effect, “if anyone else was in the White House, we would be marching.” Chairman Cleaver was addressing the horrific socio-economic status of black Americans during the Obama administration. Perhaps “Mad Max” needs a reminder of a few things, such as black unemployment is at a record, all time low…that didn’t happen with Barack Obama. More blacks are getting off food stamps and getting back into the workforce…that didn’t happen with Barack Obama. And perhaps the very affluent Maxine Waters, who doesn’t reside in the congressional district she represents, should check her 401(k), among other financial investments and see the record highs of our financial markets…that certainly didn’t happen with Barack Obama. Just as Obama never achieved three percent economic growth in his eight years, something President Trump did in his first year.
So, why didn’t ol’ Maxine not show anger about the policies of Barack Obama which failed the black community? The answer is simple: it’s all about identity politics and an ideological agenda that undermines the success of the black community. However, if it’s something that serves the purpose of Maxine Waters, then it’s her raison d’être. Rep. Waters cares very little about the status, situation, or plight of those she is “supposed” to represent. She cares only about furthering her own personal agenda, which includes filling her personal coffers, and the agenda of the progressive socialist left…which are and have been detrimental to the black community.
Sadly, it appears Rep. Waters doesn’t believe Dr. King would protest the decimation of the black family, which is a result of the leftist policies. The lack of quality education in the inner city communities has been supported by the left wing teachers unions, which are supported by Rep. Waters. I have to ask, when was the last time we heard Mad Max advocate for school choice programs in the inner city? You have not. What about small business growth in the inner cities, the urban centers — where has Maxine Waters’ voice been? Nowhere. And when has anyone heard Maxine Waters speak out about the organization founded by a white supremacist and racist, Margaret Sanger, Planned Parenthood, and the murder of millions of unborn black babies?
Who is the real racist?
Dr. King, if he were alive, would not be protesting or marching against President Trump. He’d be working with him. And if Rep. Waters has forgotten, it was a Democrat president names Lyndon Baines Johnson who used the “N” word when referring to blacks. And used government surveillance against Dr. King.
California Democrat Representative Maxine Waters is just another example of the new “overseer” on the liberal progressive socialist 21st century economic plantation. Hers is a voice needed to do one thing: foment political agitation, and not address the real issues. Waters is just a simple pawn of the left, the Democrat Party, trying to ensure the black vote stays with them.
And it was Booker T. Washington who aptly described Rep. Waters:
“There is another class of coloured people who make a business of keeping the troubles, the wrongs, and the hardships of the Negro race before the public. Having learned that they are able to make a living out of their troubles, they have grown into the settled habit of advertising their wrongs — partly because they want sympathy and partly because it pays. Some of these people do not want the Negro to lose his grievances, because they do not want to lose their jobs.”
Booker T. Washington focused on relevant industrial education that led to self-reliance and entrepreneurship. One day perhaps, we will have principled leadership in the black community, and no more of this cackling of sycophantic charlatans…which is an appropriate description of Rep. Maxine Waters.
