Frederica Wilson. The only reason we know that name today is because the liberal congresswoman went out of her way to exploit the death of Sgt. La David Johnson after he was killed by insurgents in Niger. Rather than take the classy road and keep the conversation between Trump and Johnson’s family private, Wilson went public and spread a fake news story that Trump doesn’t care about the troops and was rude to the family.
It was clear from the jump that Wilson was only trying to make a name for herself.
In fact, she basically admitted that all she cared about was being a “rock star”.
You’ll also remember that Gen. Kelly’s response to Wilson was spot on.
From CBS News:
“I was stunned when I came to work yesterday morning, and brokenhearted at what I saw a member of Congress doing,” Kelly said, “a member of Congress who listened in on a phone call from the President of the United States to a young wife, and in his way, tried to express that opinion: that he’s a brave man, a fallen hero.
In the months following Wilson’s selfish move, we didn’t hear much about her. That’s usually how it works. People like her don’t actually get things done in Washington or stay in the news for positive reasons. They just hang around and occasionally say ridiculous things to get attention and raise money. Kind of like Maxine Waters.
Like clockwork, Wilson is back in the news.
Now, she wants everyone to know that she will not be attending Trump’s first state of the union address.
From Washington Examiner:
Florida Rep. Frederica Wilson will not attend President Trump’s first State of the Union address later this month, months after she quarreled with the White House in the wake of the death of Army Sgt. La David Johnson.
Wilson told The Tampa Bay Times Sunday in a statement she doesn’t plan to attend Trump’s speech to Congress on Jan. 30.
“For the first time since I began serving in the U.S. House of Representatives, I will not be attending the president’s State of the Union address,” Wilson said. “I have no doubt that instead of delivering a message of inclusivity and an agenda that benefits all Americans, President Trump’s address will be full of innuendo, empty promises, and lies.”
What a class act.
Translation: She’s putting partisan politics before country.
There are some things bigger than politics and respecting the office of president should be one of those. Do you think any serious person cares if she’s not there? This is just childish and it only reaffirms how unhinged the liberal left has become.
