What the NRA is being forced to do in Washington DC should disturb every American

Greetings y’all from Washington DC, our nation’s capital. I’m here for the NRA winter board meeting. I do hope y’all will consider coming to Dallas, May 2-6, for the NRA Annual Meeting and Convention.

It was a special honor and blessing to be an NRA Board member and having the annual meeting in my birthplace of Atlanta last year. This year, the convention is in my hometown of Dallas. I love the motto of the NRA, “Freedom’s Safest Place.” And it’s an appropriate slogan considering the NRA, established in 1873, is the nation’s oldest civil rights organization. Yes, the Second Amendment is an American civil right, regardless of what the progressive socialist left wants us to believe.

Ponder this if you may, nearly 243 years ago, why do you think the British landed in Boston and began marching inland with the objective being Concord? The Redcoats knew if they wanted to keep the “colonials” subjugated to the British crown, and undermine any possible rebellion, they people had to be disarmed. And so their intelligence told them of an arms factory in Massachusetts near Concord that was supplying the “rebels” with arms and ammunition. This country began because a few brave patriots came out, took the field at Lexington Green, fired the shot that was heard around the world, and made the declarative statement that personifies what it means to be an American. “An armed person is a citizen, an unarmed person is a subject.”

How very interesting it is that today in the same state of Massachusetts, the progressive socialist left has accomplished what the British sought to implement: gun control. And this comes in a Constitutional Republic where it states as our Second Amendment right to “keep and bear arms” and it “shall not be infringed.” Today’s liberal progressive leftist anti-Second Amendment proponents have become the modern Redcoats and the objective hasn’t changed: to institute rule of the masses, and not to govern the people, the citizens. It’s the difference between liberty and tyranny.

How incredibly perplexing that here we are in these United States of America pondering at the NRA board meeting how we can ensure a piece of legislation affirming the Second Amendment — national reciprocity — can pass in the U.S. Senate. Can any of you believe this? We’re discussing how we can beg our elected representatives to give us a right that our forefathers fought to establish and affirm. We’re offering ourselves before these so deemed, and considered “lords” to allow us to be able to arm and defend ourselves.

This is coming on the ten year anniversary of when we had to go before the Supreme Court of the United States and beg them to give us our Second Amendment right, in the Heller case decision. And you know what? That decision on the Second Amendment passed only by a thin margin of 5-4…yes, we were one vote away from the highest court in the land stating that the Second Amendment was not constitutional.

Now, ten years later, we’re begging the Senate. Why? Why is it that these same unelected jurists could establish marriage as a right and claim that same-sex marriage is the “law of the land,” yet we must beg for recognition of the well-established Second Amendment? This is absurd, and actually should anger every red-blooded American. But, there are those that it doesn’t.

Consider that former New York City mayor, Michael Bloomberg, has dedicated 25 million of his very own dollars to undermine the Second Amendment. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has dedicated $10 million to undermine our Second Amendment liberty.  We know the infamous Geroge Soros has dedicated $18 billion of his own wealth to specific progressive socialist causes through his Open Society Foundation. If you look at the financial backing for the anti-Second Amendment leftist cause, you’ll find the donor base from California, New York, and Chicago. What is also very interesting — not coincidental — because these are the same places with the most restrictive, anti-Second Amendment rules and regulations…as well as being sanctuary states and cities for illegal immigrants and violent gangs such as MS-13.

As we enter into this 2018 critical midterm election cycle, do we really want to see a Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi? Do we want a Senate Majority Leader named Chuck Schumer? Do we want the modern-day Redocats in power and in charge who’ll go forward to take away our Second Amendment rights in order to render us subject to their tyranny…just as in Venezuela with socialist leader Nicolas Maduro? Why are Americans forced to be members of labor unions who take these mandated dues from American workers and funnel the funds to support progressive socialist ideological agendas, such as anti-Second Amendment endeavors?

There’s no way we in America should stand for ANYONE claiming to be anti-Second Amendment. Unless in these short 243 years we’ve come full circle and seek to dishonor the last full measure of devotion made by simple, humble men so that we could live in this great nation.

We talked about intensity on the left and with the anti-Second Amendment minions…Why? Am I to believe that the fight for liberty and freedom no longer possesses a fervor, an intensity in our America? Am I to believe we’re no longer willing to fight and all accept the title of “Freedom’s Safest Place?”

I ain’t begging government to allow me to enjoy that which is enshrined in our Constitution, and neither should you. If there’s anyone who doesn’t believe in the Second Amendment as the law of this land, they should be voted out of office. If the left wants unconstitutional sanctuaries for illegal immigrants, well doggone, perhaps we need constitutional sanctuaries for legal, law-abiding gun owners in America? After all, the left uses the “Equal Protection Clause” of the 14th Amendment for all their nutty agenda items. Why don’t we?

Freedom is worth a fight, and our intensity, along with our resources. Never forget these words: “And for the support of this Declaration, and with a firm Reliance on the Protection of divine Providence, we mutually pledge to each other our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor.” Are we now lesser Americans than those 56 men? I say no!

And I say these two words to the progressive socialist leftist Redcoats who seek to disarm us: Molon Labe!
