God help them: Top Dem has ABSURD suggestion for helping Puerto Rico recovery

Howard Dean has a brilliant idea to help expedite the recovery efforts in Puerto Rico – just put the Clinton Foundation in charge of it!

Yes….. really. According to The Hill, former Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean on Thursday slammed President Trump for having “no clue” how to lead the federal recovery effort in Puerto Rico, suggesting that the Clinton Foundation — run by the family of Trump’s former opponent Hillary Clinton — handle it instead.

“What we should do is turn over the rehab of Puerto Rico to the Clinton Foundation. They know what they are doing. You have no clue,” said Dean, a Hillary Clinton supporter.

The reaction from Sane America was split between “are you kidding me” and pure amusement.

In the case of Haiti (which a number of people above mentioned), the Foundation was more interested in providing kickbacks for their donors than native Hatians devastated by the 2010 earthquake. As Townhall Magazine’s Cortney O’Brien documented, emails show that “Friends of Bill” were given special attention from the State Department in terms of who would receive funding. One case in point: Clinton Foundation donor Claudio Osorio, a Miami businessman, was given a $10 million loan to construct homes in Haiti. Yet, his company defaulted on the loan and the project never got off the ground. In fact, USAID reports fewer than 1,500 homes have been built in the past six years.

And as we’ve reported on in the past, the Clinton Foundation is an exceptionally poorly fun charity.  In 2013 the Foundation spent only 10 percent of its budget on charitable grants. For comparison, an equal 10 percent of the budget went towards travel, 33 percent on salaries/benefits, and 47 percent on all other expenses (rent, supplies, IT).

Here’s a better candidate for Puerto Rican relief: literally anyone else.
