JUST IN: The FBI claims it JUST found papers related to Lynch-Clinton airplane meeting

It’s called “The Federal Bureau of Investigations,” right?  So what’s it supposed to be expert at? Investigating!

Yet for the past 18 months, if not longer, some have suspected that what the FBI does best is providing cover for powerful politicians. And unfortunately,  those allegations seem less crazy today than they did back then.

Adding to that sense is a new report claiming that the FBI has suddenly “found” documents regarding former Attorney General Loretta Lynch’s “chance” meeting with Bill Clinton on the tarmac of Phoenix’s Sky Harbor Airport in June of last year. (As you’ll remember, this happened just prior to the release of the Benghazi Report — which looked into the deaths of four Americans in Libya and the ensuing “it was because of an internet video” lies by the Hillary Clinton State Department).

According to the Daily Caller,

“The FBI has found 30 pages of documents related to the June 2016 airport tarmac meeting between Bill Clinton and then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch, even after the bureau claimed to not have any records related to the matter.

FBI lawyers revealed the existence of the records in response to a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit filed by Judicial Watch, the conservative watchdog group.

The FBI had informed Judicial Watch last October that the bureau did not have any records related to the June 27, 2016 meeting between Clinton and Lynch. That encounter, which occurred on the tarmac at Phoenix’s airport, was significant because it took place while the Justice Department was investigating Hillary Clinton’s potential mishandling of classified information on her private email account.

Though the FBI told Judicial Watch that it did not have records related to the meeting, the Justice Department revealed in response to a separate lawsuit filed by the watchdog that some of its officials had been in contact with FBI officials about the Clinton-Lynch encounter.

In August, the Justice Department released emails showing some of its officials exchanging emails with the FBI regarding the meeting. And in a July 1, 2016, email, Justice Department official Caroline Pokomy told colleagues that “FBI is asking for guidance” on the controversy.

After the release of those documents, the FBI acknowledged that it had possession of some records related to the meeting. The bureau’s attorneys informed Judicial Watch that, “Upon further review, we subsequently determined potentially responsive documents may exist.”

It is unclear what documents about the tarmac meeting the FBI has in its possession, but Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton calls the FBI’s new disclosure “stunning.”

“The FBI is out of control,” Fitton said in a statement“It is stunning that the FBI ‘found’ these Clinton-Lynch tarmac records only after we caught the agency hiding them in another lawsuit.”

The FBI has until Nov. 30 to hand the newly discovered documents over to Judicial Watch.

There you have it: A federal law enforcement agencies that’s supposed to be impartial and nonpartisan is stone-cold busted.

This entire episode has been ridiculous from the start. That Lynch’s jet just happened to land and park next to Clinton’s was fishy enough. That we only learned of the ‘chance’ meeting because a rogue reporter happened to be at the airport and spotted them; that all staff were ordered off the plane when Mr. Clinton boarded it; and that no pictures or audio recordings were allowed, makes it worse still.

Lynch and Clinton’s cover story that they conversed (in secret) about grand kids and golf was just plain ridiculous — and an insult to any thinking person’s intelligence.

It doesn’t take Columbo or Starsky and Hutch to piece this together. That our FBI is clearly running interference for the players in this soap opera is beyond concerning. If our federal cops can’t be trusted, who can?

Lynch is sure to be questioned about the meeting during her planned appearance at congressional hearings about Russia’s involvement in the 2016 election next week.
