Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, former Obama chief of staff, once quipped, “Never let a good crisis go to waste.”
It’s truly indicative of the Left’s hypocrisy — especially given all their criticisms of President Donald Trump over the recovery efforts after Hurricane Irma and Maria in Puerto Rico.
How many of you recall the liberal, progressive media’s railing against Barack Obama when he sat paralyzed over the BP oil spill?
Of course, you don’t recall it, because it didn’t happen. Yet, you hear nothing about the amount of assistance and aid rolling into Puerto Rico. The White House just requested a $26 billion aid package for Puerto Rico and its recovery from the two hurricanes.
Let’s just hope that the massive amount of American taxpayer funds emanating from a treasury that Puerto Rico does not help fund, doesn’t go to waste. I, for one, find it concerning that Puerto Rico’s such a fiscal basket case.
But that’s not the real focus of this missive.
It appears that the progressive, socialist Left has a little bit of scheming going on. There’s a push to have more Puerto Ricans leave the island nation — a U.S. territory, but not a state — and move into mainland United States.
What folks must realize is that, as citizens of the United States, they’ll immediately have the right to vote wherever they move. Now, where do you think the Left is trying to get them to relocate? Well, it ain’t Texas y’all. Yep, it’s Florida.
See, the location of the other large population of Puerto Ricans in the mainland United States is New York City. But there’s no need to send them there, since that city, and the state of New York, is, sadly, solidly “blue.”
However, after losing Florida in the last presidential election, the progressive, socialist Left is looking for ways to tip it back to their side. Remember, it’s a state that Obama won twice.
The largest concentration of Puerto Ricans in Florida — and the second largest concentration in the United States — is right there in Orlando, along the famous I-4 corridor.
As a matter of fact, during the last redistricting cycle in Florida — which I know lots about — a new congressional district was created right there in the Orlando area, enabling Alan Grayson to return to Congress.
The next U.S. census will occur in 2020, and the resulting redistricting will happen in 2021. However, imagine what will happen after a huge influx of new voters, just in time for the next presidential election of 2020? How many more electoral votes might Florida bring to the table?
I just love the faux outrage of the Left about the island of Puerto Rico. What they’re doing is exploiting the people for their own political gain.
I haven’t heard about too many leftist millionaires and billionaires opening up their wallets to help the people of the island. Where are all their private jets flying in resources? Yet, they’re the first ones to condemn President Trump for passing out paper towels.
How immature! But not just that — they’re now going to deceive the people of the island in order to bring them to the United States for their further political gain.
I hate it when the Left uses people like pawns in their quest for power. If these Americans come to the mainland, what happens to their quality of life? You just have to ask: Why would the Left want to make Florida resemble California?
Sorry for asking a rhetorical question — but it’s quite appropriate to ask why the Left seems to love financial failure. After all, that’s why businesses, and much of the population, is departing California for Texas.
And insanely enough, these delusional folks want to make Texas more like California.
So the Left, following a script similar to the Islamic principle known as Al Hijra is using migration in order to further their goals and objectives. We’ve seen the results of Al Hijra in western Europe, especially in England.
I would have to ask the Puerto Rican community: Why would you align yourself with a political philosophy that runs contrary to your values of faith, family, education, independence and service to our nation? Who wants to be used and be made a part of the dependency culture of the Left?
The liberal progressive leftists do not want individual productivity; they don’t want citizens who are able to pursue their own happiness.
They want collective subservience as well as an expansion of the welfare state. That’s not living — but if you come to America, vote for the progressive, socialist Left, because that’s what you’ll get.
Furthermore, if Florida were to flip and go Democratic, you wouldn’t have a state with economic growth and success; you’d have another failed “blue” state — just like the rest of them — with high taxes.
My prayer is that someday we’ll have a Constitutional, conservative organization that focuses on developing strategy to counter what the Left does. We need someone to sound the clarion call and send out signals to our folks — just like the dog whistles of the Left.
It’ll be interesting to see what happens as a result of the Puerto Rican influx into Florida. As I’ve said before, the Left’s grand strategy is to go into solid “red” states, overtake high-population urban centers, then flip those states. In those urban centers, you see the greatest evidence of liberal, progressive, leftist policies.
So, why continue the insanity of doing the same thing while expecting different results?
As Winston Churchill said, “socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; it’s inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery.” Or as Vladimir Lenin put it, “the goal of socialism is communism.”
