After the tragic mass shooting that unfolded in Las Vegas Sunday, it didn’t take long for us to learn who was responsible for the attack.
Found dead in his hotel room, Stephen Paddock may not fit the usual profile of a mass shooter, but it was he who carried out the attack nonetheless. Now, authorities must try to piece together the killer’s motivation and and actions — not who’s to blame.
Of course, there may still be some twists to the investigation. Paddock’s live-in girlfriend, Marilou Danley, has been named a person of interest in the case. And ISIS has has called the dead gunman a foot soldier in its murderous army. Still, it’s ultimately Paddock who carried out the attack.
Strangely enough, there are those among us that don’t see the situation as so cut and dry.
Perhaps taking their cues from Hillary Clinton, who has humorously blamed everyone but herself for her election defeat in recent months, liberals have been blaming everyone but the shooter for the tragedy in Las Vegas. To them, Paddock isn’t the only one to blame for his actions — it must be the fault of white males, the NRA or guns in general.
In a plot twist, some have even taken to a bizarre form of victim blaming.
At the forefront of this liberal blame game is late-night comedian Jimmy Kimmel, who blasted gun control skeptics on his show in a viral monologue two nights ago. After facing some backlash from people with actual logical arguments, Kimmel took to the airwaves again last night, this time assigning some more surprising blame for the tragedy.
From the Daily Wire:
One night after saying GOP lawmakers should be “praying to God to forgive them” for not supporting leftist initiatives on gun control, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel returned with a vengeance to blast critics of his gun control monologue, accusing them of having a guilty conscience in knowing that they “bear some responsibility” for the Las Vegas massacre.
“I’m not going to get deep into it again tonight,” Kimmel began. “But I do want to say something to these nuts who spent much of the day today on television and online, attacking those of us who think we need to do something about the fact that 59 innocent people were killed. They say it’s inappropriate to be talking about it because it’s too soon.”
That’s right, Kimmel doesn’t just blame Stephen Paddock for taking the lives of 59 innocent people, he blames you. Interestingly enough, if you’re a conservative who doesn’t buy Kimmel’s argument, you’re the one with blood on your hands. Only people like Kimmel, you see, care enough about the victims and have all the solutions.
You? Well, your opposition to his brilliance just shows a guilty conscience.
With arguments like this, is it any wonder the Left’s ideas were rejected at the ballot box in November? Chances are, things are unlikely to change anytime soon.
