It is hard to overstate the hypocrisy of Hollywood’s Limousine Liberals.
Sometimes it’s someone like actor Leo DeCaprio stepping out of a private jet to lecture about climate change.
And, other times, it is actress Julia Louis-Dreyfuss who used the announcement that she has breast cancer to call for universal health care, as if she would be willing to sit in a government-run health clinic after waiting months to see an oncologist under such a system, rather than using her many millions to buy the best health care possible.
Now we see late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, who took the opportunity in the aftermath of the Las Vegas mass shooting, to further burnish his rising star in the Progressive movement by calling for more gun control.
The New York Times reflected much of the reporting of the progressive media in its enthusiastic praise of Mr. Kimmel’s monologue, writing;
Jimmy Kimmel, a son of Las Vegas, delivered one of the most emotionally searing monologues in his show’s 14-year history on Monday as he honored those killed and injured in Sunday night’s shooting, and challenged President Trump and Congress to act against gun violence. Just as he did in his attacks on the Republican health care bills this year, Mr. Kimmel used plain, pointed language while acting as a social conscience as he called out politicians, the National Rifle Association and complacent citizens.
The video of Mr. Kimmel’s ‘acting as a social conscience’ can be seen here:
Unfortunately, Mr. Kimmel, in calling out “politicians, The National Rifle Association, and complacent citizens” for supporting gun rights, neglected to call out himself.
Sources close to the show tell The Blast that ever since Kimmel re-ignited his campaign against the Republicans’ health care proposals, the comedian has had some issues with protestors at the show.
We’re told the show has responded by adding security to the tapings — increasing personnel at both the front and back entrances. According to our sources, the additional security consists of highly-trained, off-duty police officers.
So, in essence, Mr. Kimmel is calling for more guns for him, even as he is calling for more gun control for everyone else.
In the Hollywood Limousine Liberal clique, this is par for the course.
