YIKES! In new push for gun control, Hillary puts her foot in it — AGAIN

While many of us hoped the last we’d hear of Hillary Clinton would be on November 8th, she’s come out of hiding to weigh in on issues nobody wanted to get her opinion on.

After the horrific shooting in Las Vegas earlier today, Hillary decided to immediately attack the NRA for a shooting that ISIS claimed responsibility for (though the family of the shooter claims he was non-religious, so this still needs to be verified).

Her angle was a bit odd too. Rather than the usual talking points about background checks or banning certain types of “assault weapons,” she decided to attack the gun silencers the shooter didn’t use.

In calling for this particular gun control measure (or silencer control?), Hillary is revealing that she truly has a Hollywood-action-movie-level knowledge of how gun silencers work.

The typical gunshot is 140-190 decibels, and silencers, contrary to making the sound of a gun silent, can shave off about 30 decibels of that. It makes more sense to refer to them as “suppressors” than “silencers,” because without ear protection, a gunshot will still be loud enough to cause permanent ear damage.

Contrary to Hillary’s vivid imagination — in which concertgoers would be left dumbfounded as their peers collapsed mysteriously around them — even had the shooter been using a silencer, the gunshots would’ve still been as loud as a football stadium full of fans.

It’s not the first time Hillary has stretched the truth about gun control. As USA Today reported, during the presidential campaign,

while pushing for changes to background checks, she falsely claimed that the FBI needed “just one more day” to stop Dylann Roof from being able to purchase the handgun that he allegedly used to kill nine people at a church in Charleston, S.C. But one more day wouldn’t have mattered in that case; the FBI director said that clerical errors led to Roof being able to legally purchase the gun in April 2015, and the FBI didn’t confirm that the sale shouldn’t have been allowed until after the shooting two months later.
