In 2015 German Chancellor Angela Merkel implemented an “open border” policy regarding immigration and refugee acceptance. She did it largely by herself as she squashed and dismissed out-of-hand any objections or counter-proposals. Since that times German citizens have been toe-tagged and sent to the mortuary at the hands of radical Islamic jihadists with startling frequency. Here’s the list of perpetrators:
> 17 September 2015 – Rafik Mohamad Yousef
> 26 February 2016 – Safia S. (full name and information withheld due to assailant being a 15 year-old minor)
> 15 July 2016 – Riaz Khan Ahmadzai
> 19 December 2016 – name not released
Plus other attacks which made European news but weren’t so much covered here in the USA. Germany has seen everything from knife and machete-wielding maniacs to last Christmas’ horrendous slaughter wherein a jihadist mowed through a crowded shopping district killing twelve and injuring dozens just days before Christmas.
The situation is so dire that one sixteen-year-old girl produced a simple yet heart-wrenching homemade video selfie describing life in her town since Merkel’s decision. The video caught viral fire and has been viewed over 1.55 million times on Youtube. Now a prisoner in her own town she sought to warn others and place the blame squarely on Merkel.
So how angry are Germans with Angela Merkel? So mad that they re-elected her.
The BBC has reported:
“Mrs Merkel is set for a fourth term in office, despite heavy losses for her party in Sunday’s election. She now faces months of coalition talks to try to form a stable government. After winning its first parliamentary seats, AfD – Alternative for Germany – vowed to fight “an invasion of foreigners” into the country.
“We want a different policy,” co-leader Alexander Gauland said following his party’s historic surge.
But splits have already emerged between AfD leaders on the party’s direction. There were surprising scenes at the party’s news conference on Monday morning when chairwoman Frauke Petry, the best known AfD politician, announced she would not be part of the party’s bloc when she joined the Bundestag.
Mrs Merkel’s conservative alliance – between the Christian Democratic Union (CDU) and its sister Bavarian party, the Christian Social Union (CSU) – recorded its worst result in almost 70 years.”
There’s an odd old saying that grandmothers everywhere used to repeat – “Sometimes you end up sleeping in the same bed you peed in.” You had your chance, Germans. You’ve seen the results Chancellor Merkel’s policies have wrought and you’ve chosen another helping of the same. While we don’t desire to seem harm upon anyone it’d be foolish not to advise your city mortuaries to keep a supply of toe tags on hand.
