Cop gets “hate” message at local pizza joint; his response goes VIRAL

The blatant hatred for law enforcement from today’s left has never been more on display than since July 23, 2009 when then-President of the United States, Barack Obama, went on national television and uttered four words, “Cambridge police acted stupidly.” That moment in time may be the pebble that started the avalanche that has seen police officers hunted down in our streets, shot while gassing their cars, and as we reported days ago now being attacked with chemical weapons.

Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on how one views it) most attacks on cops are of the nonviolent variety. Whether shouting at them, flipping a middle finger or passive-aggressive behaviors like placing nasty notes onto dining receipts, which is exactly what happened to a Torrence, California cop who recently stopped at in a local pizzeria for a bite.

Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children described the situation:

“A Torrance, California police officer just needed a quick to-go bite of food on a busy day on his shift. He stopped by Pieology, a pizza parlor, and paid for his meal. He was surprised to see “F*** the Cops” printed on his receipt.

He was in a hurry, so instead of making a scene, he just stood by and watched his order being prepared to make sure it wasn’t tampered with.

The cashier was a female, and the officer wondered what could have happened to her that she hated police so deeply. He wanted to ask, but had to rush off with his order.

The restaurant offers a 50 percent discount for first responders and military, and he did receive it, though since the officer had never been there before, he was unaware of the policy. He took the discount and gave it back as a tip in spite of the nasty note on the receipt.”

The story would have ended there but he then showed the receipt to his some of his colleagues. The wife of one of them took a picture of the receipt and posted it onto Facebook with a heart-wrenching message:

“I want to share this with everyone to show the unprovoked hatred that my husband and his partners deal with everyday.

This is not the type of business that I want to see in the city where I live. My husband’s partner was just trying to get a quick bite to eat in the middle of a busy shift and this is what he received. Needless to say, we will never eat at Pieology ever again. I hope you all will help support our police and share this both near and far. It is NOT ok to treat our officers like this.”

Social media mayhem ensued. Her post was shared 2,000 times and phone calls were made to the pizzeria.

For his part, the officer holds no angry feelings against the cashier. The EX-cashier. The officer chose to remain anonymous and allow the department’s spokesman, Sgt Ronald Harris, to respond for him.

According to Blue Lives Matter, the restaurant responded:

“We at Pieology are extremely disappointed in the actions of this employee, and apologize on behalf of the entire Pieology family for this upsetting situation.  The actions of this employee do not in any way reflect the thoughts of Pieology, and we are taking swift and serious action to rectify the situation, including terminating the offending employee.

We have the utmost respect and gratitude for the men and women who keep our communities safe, and have no tolerance for hateful language or actions. This location in Torrance is a heartfelt supporter of all men and women in uniform, especially the brave first responders, and shows its support with a discount for all uniformed police, firefighters and military members.” Vanessa Legutko

The police department sent a representative to the restaurant to meet with management on Monday.

“We have to understand that one mishap or one action from one employee doesn’t represent an entire organization, and particularly in law enforcement we understand that.” Sgt. Ronald Harris, police spokesman”

Talk about love thine enemies. What a gesture, he gave the discount given him for being a law enforcement officer and gave it to the very person who’d just written “f*** you” to him for no reason other than being a law enforcement officer. Now that’s class.
