Back in March, President Trump claimed that he had been wiretapped by the Obama administration, which created ripples of laughter and accusations of paranoia in the media.
Never mind the fact they themselves were indulging in their own paranoia over the whole “Russian interference” nonsense they were pushing, desperately hoping there was something there.
Well, if what’s happening to former Trump campaign head Paul Manafort is any indication, those claims are likely the truth.
According to the New York Post,
Reports that special counsel Robert Mueller had wiretapped former Trump campaign boss Paul Manafort and plans to indict him sent Washington into a new tizzy of speculation.
According to CNN, which first carried the wiretapping report, Manafort was surveilled under a FISA warrant, meaning the FBI suspected he was operating as a foreign agent. The network said it is possible G-men listened to the president talking to Manafort because the wiretap continued into this year and Trump and Manafort often talked in 2017.
If so, that would mark an infamous history — an American president being overheard by secret agents of his own government.
It would also be additional support for Trump’s charge that former President Barack Obama “had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory.”
The report from the NY Post notes that there were six individuals in the Trump administration and campaign, including Trump himself, that were identified as having been “incidentally” picked up or surveilled while talking to “targets.”
This includes Gen. Mike Flynn, Jeff Sessions and Jared Kushner.
Did former President Obama actually place Trump under surveillance for the sake of trying to help his party win the presidential election? If that turns out to be the case, just how far-reaching is the corruption that came out of the Obama administration and what else did he have his hands in?
Only time, and a thorough investigation, will reveal the truth. You sure can’t count on the media to hold the government accountable in cases like this, given their left-wing bias. In fact, CNN’s original reporting of Trump’s wiretapping statement has instantly become a total embarrasment.
Meanwhile, Trump, it seems, has been vindicated.
