An armed person is a citizen; an unarmed person is a subject: Gun rights in America

Barack Obama and the progressive socialist left made no bones about being anti-Second Amendment.

As well, there was a huge concern about a potential Hillary Clinton presidency on the same issue, which we shared with y’all on these pages.

I have found it incredibly perplexing how the liberal progressive left is always creating new rights: the right to own a home, a right to health care, the right to a free college education, a right to marriage. But, when it comes to our most basic unalienable right, established in the Declaration of Independence, endowed by our Creator: the right to life. The left always finds a way to deny, obfuscate, or dismiss that critical first right.

And, the best way to preserve your right to life, as well as those other first amendment rights in the Constitution, is the Second Amendment.

And, so I find it interesting that the following bit of news went rather undisclosed by the leftist media.

As reported by the Free Beacon:

A new poll published on Thursday found more Americans report having a gun in their home than ever before.

The Wall Street Journal/NBC News surveyof 1,200 adults found 48 percent of Americans said they or somebody else in their household owned a gun. That’s 3 percentage points higher than when the same question was asked last year. It’s 9 percentage points higher than when the question was asked in 2011, the low point of the poll’s findings for self-reported gun ownership.

The United States Census Bureau estimates there are 249,454,440 adults currently living in America. If the Wall Street Journal/NBC News survey is accurate, that equates to 119,738,131 Americans with a gun in their home.

The National Rifle Association said while the gun ownership rate is inherently difficult to measure, the poll undermined the idea that gun ownership is slowly fading in America.

“Throughout their many failures, gun control advocates have comforted themselves with their belief that gun ownership is falling and that they will be able to achieve their policy goals once the number of gun owners sufficiently dwindles,” the gun-rights group’s lobbying arm wrote on its website. “Polling data on gun ownership rates is inherently suspect. Gun ownership is a personal decision, and given the politically charged nature of the topic and government efforts to restrict gun rights, some gun owners are reluctant to share this personal information with strangers. This could result in polling that underreports gun ownership. Other research further suggests that female spouses living in gun-owning households tend to underreport firearm ownership.”

Last year I was elected to the NRA Board of Directors — an immense honor — to be a Guardian of our Second Amendment right. It is such a great pleasure to go to my local shooting range, be it outdoors at the Garland Public Shooting Range, or indoors at Defender Outdoors in Ft. Worth, and maintain my shooting skills. And, of course, some of you have seen the warning sign on our home here in Dallas:

The folks on the left may ask, why do you want to own firearms? The answer is simple: because I can, and it is my right…and, the fact that an armed person is a citizen, and unarmed person is a subject. Don’t believe me, study history, or just look at Venezuela. The greatest threat to a tyrannical government is a populace that cannot be terrorized, or made to cower. This, in essence, is the dream of the left in America, to have a population that cannot defend themselves. Some may wonder why the numbers for gun ownership continue to rise; the answer again is simple:

Consider the story we shared with you yesterday about the decision by the Portland Oregon police bureau. If the left continues down the path of seeing criminals as victims, they then align themselves against law abiding citizens who are the real victims. I am quite sure the gun control laws in Portland are rather onerous.

Think about the violence, and death rate of Chicago, another place with excessive gun control laws. The citizens there have no ability to defend themselves. The progressive socialist left has made them victims, subjects, as with most who reside in the major urban centers controlled by the left.

Remember those acts of Islamic terrorism during Barack Obama’s tenure: Ft. Hood, Chattanooga Navy Reserve Center, Orlando, and San Bernadino? The fact that our men and women on military installations are unable to defend themselves is still unconscionable. The fact that the former Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, was considering punishing a Navy Commander for using his firearm to return fire against the Islamic jihadist is reflective of the leftist mindset. Obama declared Ft. Hood was “workplace violence” and used the terrorist attacks of San Bernadino and Orlando to tout gun control. Simply amazing.

I give credit to President Donald Trump for going on the offense against criminal illegal immigrants, such as the gang MS-13. Of course, any MS-13 member in Portland Oregon is a victim because they are a minority, and will therefore not be listed in a gang database. That goes along with the absurdity of leftist sanctuary city policies that give safe harbor to criminal illegal immigrants, and in conjunction, restrict gun ownership for law abiding Americans.

The reason why so many homes have guns in America is because we see the progressive socialist left for who they are: more willing to defend those aligned with their ideological agenda than protecting, securing, and safeguarding the American people: its citizens.

Yet, these jackass hypocrites are the first to live behind high fences and gates with small entourages of armed security around them. What recourse does the common American man or woman have? This is why the rantings of little Napoleons like Michael Bloomberg and his ilk are dangerous, and I would invite that tiny fella to hang out here where I live, within a rock’s throw of the dangerous area of Forest Lane and Audelia in Dallas.

Think about it: the black-robed, unelected jurists of the Supreme Court ruled in the Obergfell vs. Hodges case that same-sex marriage was the “law of the land.” An unconstitutional decision, and they declared that all States must abide by, and allow it.

So, why is it that we still do not have National Reciprocity for gun owners? This is another one of those legislative policies that the GOP House and Senate promised gun owners that we would have. One would think that after the nutcase liberal progressive who tried to assassinate the GOP members of Congress at their baseball practice, National Reciprocity would be a priority. I guess it is just too hard to stand up to those gun control chuckleheads of the Democrat party. Those of us who have gone through law enforcement background checks and qualified in our respective States for carry licenses should be free to travel and carry our firearms anywhere in this Constitutional Republic…unless we are no longer such? The Second Amendment clearly states that we have a right to keep and bear arms, and that right shall not be infringed. If States must conduct same-sex marriages, then how can States deny an established Constitutional right? Seems to me that is another unconstitutional act. Folks can’t just pick and choose when they want Federalism or not.

I do not expect the number referencing gun ownership to drop. As long as we have progressive socialists in America in positions of power — especially in our cities where they are sheltering, harboring, and shielding criminals…not to mention the amount pardoned by Obama — true Americans will ensure they are able to secure themselves and defend their right to life. Ya know, that right the liberal progressive left just seems to despise. After all, we cannot carry a law enforcement officer on our hip.

Molon Labe!
