Sometimes I wonder about the Trump administration …

Things that make you go hmmm …

Remember that song? Well, after the Friday news dump of no re-investigation of the IRS scandal and Lois Lerner, that song came to mind. But the following, recent news story has me going “Whiskey-Tango-Foxtrot.”

As reported by the Free Beacon,

The Trump administration is considering forcing Israel to hand back some $75 million in U.S. aid dollars that were awarded by Congress following a hotly contested effort by the Obama administration to financially limit the U.S.-Israel military alliance, according to senior Congressional sources and others familiar with the situation.

Congress allocated Israel an additional $75 million in U.S. aid last year, bringing the total package to around $38 billion, despite attempts by the Obama administration to restrict Israeli efforts to lobby Congress in favor of greater funding for several key military projects. Lawmakers had objected to the Obama administration’s last minute Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Israel, which capped U.S. aid dollars to the Jewish state and included a provision barring Israel from requesting greater financial assistance from the U.S. Congress.

Now, the Trump administration is considering forcing Israel to hand back the extra $75 million in order to stay in line with the Obama administration’s original MOU, according to multiple sources, who told the Free Beacon that Congress is preparing for a fight with the current administration if it chooses to move forward with the plan.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson is said to be spearheading the effort to request Israel give back the additional funding, arguing that Israel must stick to the letter of the former Obama administration’s MOU, despite objections by Congress, sources told the Free Beacon.”

Okay; let me state the obvious, based on what we know: The Trump administration is going to ask Israel to return $75 million, while it admittedly sought to continue providing $300 million to the PLO — the suit-wearing Islamic jihadists known as Fatah. As we’ve reported, Abu Mazen and Fatah are using the aid to finance the families of Islamic terrorists.

Also, this comes after all the campaign rhetoric about moving the U.S. embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, which for some odd reason has now been forgotten.

Ask yourself: Why is the Trump administration demanding a return to an Obama administration policy or memorandum of understanding? Oh well, I guess that Iranian nuclear deal is just fine.

Just last week, Israel conducted an operation against a Syrian chemical weapons facility. The Guardian reports,

Israeli jets have reportedly bombed a Syrian government facility in northwest of the country believed to be associated with Bashar al-Assad’s chemical weapons program me. The strikes were initially reported by Hebrew and Arab media sources on Thursday morning. A Syrian military statement appears to confirm the reports. The airstrike on the Syrian Scientific Studies and Research Centre was reported to have taken place overnight.

Western intelligence reports have linked the centre near the town of Masyaf to Syria’s chemical weapons program. A statement from the Syrian military said the attack had occurred early on Thursday and hit a facility close to the Mediterranean coast. It said Israeli warplanes fired several missiles after entering neighbouring Lebanon’s air space.

“Israeli warplanes fired a number of missiles from Lebanese air space, targeting one of our military positions near Masyaf, which led to material damage and the deaths of two members of the site,” the army said in a statement.

It warned of the “dangerous repercussions of such hostile acts on the security and stability of the region.” Syrian opposition sources said four Israeli warplanes were involved in the strike. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, along with others, identified the target as the al-Talai facility, a site that had been subject to US sanctions for its role in the Syrian non-conventional weapons agency.

The strikes follow a series of statements by Israel in recent weeks accusing Iran of seeking to establish itself in Syria and Lebanon, and of building a weapons factory, as the six-year Syrian civil war has continued to swing in favour of Assad.”

Recently, we shared the story about a North Korean-flagged vessel that was caught transporting chemical weapons to Syria. And if you didn’t know, it was back in 2007 that Israeli aircraft bombed a nuclear facility in Syria that resembled North Korea’s Yongbyon nuclear facility.

There can be no doubt of the collusion between North Korea and Iran, and, as stated, North Korea is establishing a presence in Syria. We all know that Syria is nothing more than a client state of Iran. Hezbollah, Iran’s proxy Islamic terrorist army, operates freely in Syria. And all of this is happening with the full knowledge and support of Vladimir Putin and Russia.

So my obvious question is: Why does U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson want to force Israel to abide by an Obama administration policy? Can it be that, in truth, the Trump administration’s foreign policy is nothing more than a regurgitation of the Obama era’s priorities?

There’s a serious concern, since you have quite a good deal of Obama holdovers in the Trump State Department and National Security Council.

Why would President Trump’s National Security Adviser, Lieutenant General H.R. Mc Master, allow this to be revealed, or even considered? Then again, McMaster struggled to say that the Western Wall is a part of Israel.

Isn’t it interesting that we have our best ally in the Middle East, Israel, completely surrounded by entities that wish to see its destruction … and the Trump administration is talking about giving back funding. And again, this comes after providing $300 million to Mahmoud Abbas and his jihadist gang.

Then again, I must ask, why is it that the National Security Adviser and the Secretary of State aren’t addressing the issue of supporting Kurdish independence? If we had a strong alliance with Egypt, Israel, Jordan and an independent Kurdistan, the Middle East would be a different place … and we could truly embark upon the eradication of Islamic jihadism and its state sponsors.

This news is quite puzzling and it only further exacerbates the perception that the Trump administration is now more left-leaning than it was. And if you don’t like that objective assessment, then ‘splain all of this to me, Lucy!
