Who could’ve predicted that even hurricane season would be politicized?
The dominant media narrative seems to be that the latest storms somehow prove Republicans are the anti-science party — given that, in their view, climate change is to blame for this year’s big hurricanes and that Republicans are needlessly skeptical about climate change.
Now, while climate change might be a contributing factor to storms’ severity, that remains to be proven. Moreover, climate change is most definitely not the cause of the recent storms; ask any weather expert. Among the kind of asinine comments you’ll see from those representing the party that believes there are more than two genders are the following:
As a massive hurricane bears down on us, please remember that one American political party literally does not believe in science.

… which is pretty easy to lampoon:

Among the dumbest commentary has come from those who simultaneously mock Trump for the “small loan of a million dollars” he received from his father (because $1 million isn’t a small sum, after all), while also complaining that his donation of $1 million of his own money towards relief for those affected by Hurricane Harvey isn’t a lot.
Taking the cake in that category is Michael Moore, who questions why Trump hasn’t opened up Mar-a-Lago as a hurricane shelter yet. Perhaps he’s just taking a page out of the playbook of those who decided to blast Joel Osteen for not immediately opening up his megachurch to affected Houstonians.
Has he opened up Mar-a-Lago as a shelter yet?

While Osteen didn’t initially open his megachurch because it had previously suffered flooding, Mar-a-Lago can’t be used as a shelter for an even more serious reason:
The best reply, however came from Donald Trump, Jr., himself:
It's on an island on both the ocean & intercostal and in a mandatory evacuation zone… probably not the best idea, but you know, narrative! https://t.co/Ji5V5lh7ya

Still, Moore isn’t the only person on the Left wondering why Trump’s property in the middle of a natural war zone won’t be housing anyone.
Isn’t it just hilarious that these are the people who think we’re the idiots?
