Hillary Clinton famously told Donald Trump to delete his (Twitter) account during the 2016 presidential election. Now, a former member of the CIA is launching a plan to make that a reality.

How long did it take your staff of 823 people to think that up–and where are your 33,000 emails that you deleted? https://t.co/gECLNtQizQ

According to Circa, former undercover CIA agent Valerie Plame Wilson wants President Trump off Twitter, so she’s trying to crowdfund enough money to buy the San Francisco-based company and give him the boot herself.
Wilson launched the fundraiser last week, tweeting: “If @Twitter executives won’t shut down Trump’s violence and hate, then it’s up to us. #BuyTwitter #BanTrump.” The GoFundMe page for the fundraiser says Trump’s tweets “damage the country and put people in harm’s way.”

As of writing, she has raised just under $15,000 of her billion dollar goal.
Oh — and did I mention it’s one big scam?
As poorly as Twitter has performed as a public company, its current stock price of $16.96 puts a value on the company of $11.91 billion. And, of course, when a public company is purchased by another company (or person), they have to make an offer that’s at a premium to the current stock price — or else why would anyone agree to be acquired?.
A complete takeover isn’t viable — so what are her other options? One is to obtain a majority voting stake, despite not owning 100 percent of the company. At a minimum, Ms. Wilson would need at least six billion dollars to purchase a 50.1 percent controlling stake in the firm — assuming that her massive purchases don’t drive up the stock price (which they would, by a lot).
As to those who ponied up a collective $15,000, the saying really is true: A fool and his money are soon parted.
