Whoa: MSNBC host announces he’s QUITTING Republican Party; there’s just ONE problem…

After a brief public feud (perhaps “Twitter spat” would be a better description) with President Donald Trump, MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough is announcing that he’s leaving the Republican Party. If you’re anything like the average political observer, you’re probably wondering when exactly he joined.

You may not have realized it from his show, but Scarborough did indeed once hold office as a Republican Congressman in Florida, though you have to be something of a liberal-Republican to get a gig on MSNBC. According to the Washington Examiner, Scarborough, said on Tuesday’s episode of Stephen Colbert’s “Late Show” that he is leaving the GOP to become an independent. We initially learned about this from a tweet that the executive producer of the show sent out.

On the show he appeared with his co-host and fiancé Mika Brzezinski, in which he announced his official departure from the GOP. Watch below:

After the taping, Mika tweeted out the following:

Now, there’s just one problem with that Reagan assessment: among those drawing parallels last year in defending Trump was none other than….. Joe Scarborough.

As Joe said, “While we were watching, you know, ‘Mad Men,’ and while we were watching ‘House of Cards,’ and while we’re watching ‘Sherlock,’ and while we’re watching all the shows we love to talk about here, they have been inviting Donald Trump into their house every week for 12, 13 years on ‘The Apprentice’ — a remarkable run for a prime time show. Trump’s run with “The Apprentice” was “about as remarkable as Ronald Reagan from the mid-50s to the early 1960s doing GE Theater, where over 20 million people every week saw Ronald Reagan coming into their house. Elites never saw it coming because they don’t live where most of America lives.”
