Trump mocks North Korea’s missile test, but I think he’s missing the point

As I sit here on the 241st American Independence Day typing this, these quotes just seem so prescient and appropriate for these times.

“Only the dead have seen the end of war.” — Attributed to Plato and George Santayana
“The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.” — Edmund Burke

Edmund Burke’s quote has immense meaning for the establishment of our nation, that is, if you’ve read the entire Declaration of Independence and recognize the tyranny which our forefathers and mothers faced.

And throughout our short 241 years of existence, America, albeit not perfect, has always sought to triumph over evil, overtake darkness, and be a beacon of liberty, freedom, and individual sovereignty and opportunity.

Yet when we watch the news today — yeah, I know, some of ya just can’t – we’re witnessing the massing of evil on every front. We see the expansion of the global Islamic jihad, the growing Russian, Chinese, and Iranian hegemonic threats. And even at home, the threat of a determined progressive socialist “resistance” movement manifested in a violent group called “Antifa.” Funny, these disillusioned kids talk about stopping fascism… yet it’s the liberal progressive left that seeks to shut down constitutional conservative voices. Perhaps they’re not receiving a proper education? Just an indoctrination. I wonder why we don’t hear more talk from the liberal progressive left about Venezuela? After all, they’re even jailing Americans there on “fake charges.”

However, there’s no greater example of darkness and evil, than in the place we refer to as the “hermit kingdom,” North Korea. The chart below shows the comparative assessment of the number of missile firings and tests by the respective Kim family leaders of North Korea.

Under Kim Ill Sung (15), Kim Jong Il (16), and Kim Jong Un, since 2011 (83)…66 of those came during the tenure of President Barack Obama and his policy of “strategic patience.”

So, in just the first months of the Trump presidency, Kim Jong Un has fired off more missile tests than in the entire duration of both his grandfather and father. We all know Kim Jong Un is a demented, unpredictable, and dangerous leader who feels no one will thwart his goals and objectives. And actually, he appears to be correct…but we’ve been here before.

It was in the 1930s that the world watched a maniacal dictator rise to power and violate every resolution, agreement, and mandate before him. He rebuilt a war machine and tested its effectiveness during the Spanish Civil War. The Western leaders were fearful of another “world war” taking place, fearing the mass casualties that would result. It was that fear, paralysis, a strategic patience, that enabled Adolf Hitler to begin what ended up killing tens of millions, when it could have been avoided with early, preemptive actions by a coalition of the willing, the resolute.

When Hitler laid his sights on the Rhineland, his generals thought him mad. They knew that action would trigger an incredible response and would defeat Germany in its infant stages of rebuilding its war machine. Surprisingly, nothing happened when Hitler overran the Rhineland, and that served to not just embolden Hitler, but it validated his assertion that the Western leaders would do nothing, and it emboldened his generals. And thus a World War began…

U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt famously said, “the only thing we have to fear, is fear itself” — how true. North Korea just tested another ICBM (Intercontinental Ballistic Missile) — a missile capable of striking the continental United States in Alaska.

We also must understand Iran is colluding — yes, the real collusion the Democrats don’t wish to confront — with North Korea in developing nuclear technology. Don’t forget the Israelis struck the Syrian nuclear reactor at al-Kibar on September 6, 2007. The facility had a striking resemblance to the North Korean facility at Yongbyon.

But what is most telling is there was no major retaliation against Israel for the preemptive action they took. Evil thrives when fear is present, and when we hear so many talk about how nothing can be done about North Korea because millions will die, it’s reminiscent of the mid to late 1930s when we did nothing against Hitler early. If North Korea is allowed to perfect a delivery means, and along with Iran develop a nuclear warhead, well, it’s a whole new ballgame folks. And, all of this is happening under the very nose of China, as well as a Mongolia, which is supportive of North Korea and receives U.S. foreign aid.

China’s president Xi Jinping is more than happy to have his rabid dog, Kim Jong Un, unleashed in order to keep us tied up while he and Communist China, expand their hegemonic designs by way of the new China economic “Silk Road.” We can expect no assistance from China in this matter. As a matter of fact, as long as President Trump continues to tweet and focus on “fake news,” these evil enemies will march forward towards their desired end state. They know the deplorable readiness situation of our military.

But what they know even more is our reticence, our recalcitrance to engage them early and defeat them. If we choose not to, because of self-imposed fear, we’ll pay a huge price and consequence later. For as the quote says, only the dead have seen the end of war. But what can deter war is the maxim of one President Ronald Reagan — “peace through strength” — and that is a unified strength.

President Trump will soon head to the G20 summit, but we need to stop legitimizing dictatorships and despotic rulers. We shouldn’t be sitting at the same table as a China or Russia; they should be isolated. We need to look at the United Nations and ask ourselves, why do nations such as China and Russia have seats at the UN Security Council? Seriously, we should look at nations in the United Nations and ask, why are they there, and truly what is the purpose of this failing — ok, failed — global body politic that spends most of its time condemning the only democracy in the Middle East, Israel?

Sooner or later, America must produce a leader — I don’t see one in Western Europe — but there are some shining stars in Eastern Europe. However, America, the place where Independence truly took root 241 years ago has always had a leading role, a prominent figure, since World War II. And no, fighting the weather isn’t what I define as a leadership role in global geopolitics. That’s just the religious agenda of the progressive socialist left.

We are indeed living in historic times. And we all know the quote, “those who fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.” Sadly, here in America, the liberal progressive-dominated education system seeks to erase history, redefine it, and revise it for their ideological agenda purposes. This is like watching a really bad train wreck about to happen, one that has previously happened, in the exact same way.

No, I don’t like war or combat. No true warrior does. But what a warrior does do is make ready and stand ready to stop the impending train wreck of despotic action. Sometimes it’s best to slap the crap out of the bully before he throws a punch…or at least immediately respond to his brutish actions with strength, not a desire to appease, compromise, or acquiesce. Neville Chamberlain tried the same with Hitler. But as Hitler bombed Britain, it was Churchill who steeled the British resolve. Early on the Brits disparaged Churchill; in the end they praised him.

The world is looking for a Churchill. The world needs someone, anyone of courage and resolve.
