Ahead of Tuesday, Democrats and their media allies were giddy with anticipation for the Georgia special election. According to them, this was finally going to be the one. Never mind the fact that Democrats were 0-4 in special elections before yesterday; this time they were going to show how angry the country was at President Trump. Not only that, they were going to do it in a “safe” Republican district.
Of course, there was never any reason to read much into this election. This one seat wasn’t going to sway the majority in the House, nor was it going to tell us anything about the popularity of President Trump. Having only won the district by just over one percent, GA-6 was never one of Trump’s strongholds to begin with.
However, these simple facts didn’t dissuade Democrats from spending millions on the race. In fact, California liberals sent more money to the Ossoff Campaign than residents of Georgia’s sixth district did. When the dust settled, it became the most expensive House race in American history.
Ultimately, all of that money ended up going to waste. Despite the excitement, Republican Karen Handel emerged victorious over Democrat Jon Ossoff. The defeat was a stunning blow for Democrats, many of whom thought the race was in the bag just a week ago.
In the aftermath, the media excuse factory sprung into action. Just like the presidential election, the voters couldn’t have possibly wanted a Republican in office. Yet somehow, the excuses were even more crazy this time around. In fact, MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow wondered if Ossoff lost because of rain.
Apparently, Maddow was unaware that Republican voters would have to deal with the rain as well.
Of course, Maddow wasn’t the only one with the blues. Once everything was final, most of the liberal looked shell shocked by the results.
From BizPac Review:
It was gonna be a big night, and Democrats were getting ready to pop champagne corks in celebration. But something happened on the way to the victory speech.
Democrat Jon Ossoff lost — and lost big — six percentage points big to Republican candidate Karen Handel.
But you didn’t have to look at the results to get the picture — it was written all over the faces of liberal media hosts and guests.
Here’s CNN’s Dana Bash along with her election night panel. It looks as though they’re on their way to a funeral.

Liberal reaction on Twitter wasn’t much better:

On the campaign trail, Donald Trump said we’d get sick of winning. I don’t know about you, but I’m not sick of it yet.
