BREAKING: Spicer OUT…and he’s got a new job already

Well, there’s some good news and bad news out there for folks who aren’t big fans of Sean Spicer delivering press briefings for the Trump administration.

It seems, if this new report is accurate, you won’t have to see him much more in his current role as press secretary. That’s the good news for some.

The bad news for you detractors is that he’s actually getting a promotion to a higher position in the administration involving communications.

According to The Daily Caller, Bloomberg reported that President Trump is considering elevating Spicer to a more senior role that will broadly focus on communications strategy. A Politico report stated that Spicer has been looking for replacements and has interviewed conservative radio host and Fox commentator Laura Ingraham for the press secretary job.

The White House told Fox Business in a statement: “We have sought input from many people as we look to expand our communications operation. As he did in the beginning, Sean Spicer is managing both the communications and press office.”

The Fox Business report cited White House officials saying that Spicer will not be doing the daily press briefings in his new role.

Politico also claimed that The Daily Mail’s U.S. political editor, David Martosko, is being interviewed for the role of communications director.

Spicer has had a rocky road in the role, starting with his first day on the job saying Trump had the biggest inauguration audience in history. Rumors were also rife that the president had considered firing Spicer on several occasions.

It would definitely be interesting to see what Laura Ingraham would do in this role for the administration and how she’d handle Trump’s ever-evolving PR problems, and what sort of advice and counsel she’d offer for managing his social media presence.

Only time will tell.
