Far-left Democrat, Senator Dianne Feinstein, has made it clear on multiple occasions that there’s been no evidence discovered pointing to any collusion between Russia and Donald Trump’s presidential campaign. But, there is a Democrat she thinks there may be a case against: Loretta Lynch.
While many liberal pundits believed Comey’s testimony last week would sink President Trump, it quickly became clear there’s no case to be made for a Trump connection to Russia.
We also learned that Comey had been the one to leak the claim that Trump had asked him to cease the FBI’s investigation into Michael Flynn — a claim that turned out to be false. We also learned that Comey believed Loretta Lynch had inappropriately injected politics into the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server during the campaign season.
And for that reason, Feinstein is calling for an investigation into Lynch.
According to the Daily Caller:
Feinstein called for the Senate Judiciary Committee to investigate former attorney general Loretta Lynch instructing James Comey to mislead the public about the Clinton email investigation.
Comey testified on Thursday that Lynch instructed him, without explanation, to call the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use a private email server as secretary of a state a “matter” instead of an investigation. Lynch’s request, Comey said, made him feel “queasy” as it appeared she was “looking to align the way we talked about our work with the way the political campaign was describing the same activity, which was inaccurate.”
“I would have a queasy feeling, too,” Feinstein admitted in a Sunday morning interview on CNN. “I think we need to know more about that and there’s only way to know about it, and that’s to have the judiciary committee take a look at that.”
Comey cited Lynch’s request as one of the reasons he felt compelled to hold a press conference announcing the results of the Clinton email investigation. He also cited Lynch’s private meeting with Bill Clinton on her airplane as another reason for trying to keep the FBI investigation independent from the DOJ.
Will they find evidence that Lynch helped cover for the Clinton campaign? Probably. But, if the FBI’s investigation into Hillary is any indication, the woman has been above the law. It’s hard to not think her friends aren’t in the same situation.
