For months, Democrats have been spinning a tale meant to take down President Trump. As the story goes, Trump couldn’t beat their amazingly qualified candidate on his own, he needed help. Luckily for him, his business ties to Russia presented him with a great opportunity. It was the perfect plan: the Trump campaign would collude with Russia to steal the election from its rightful winner.
Although the Democrats have done a remarkable job at telling this story, they’ve been thin on the details regarding the proof they have to back up the claim. To date, nobody on the left side of the aisle has been able to provide any evidence that there was even a link between the Trump campaign and the Russian government. Instead, we have been supplied with an endless dose of speculation.
What’s even less clear is what the Russians got out of the deal. After all, if there was a grand bargain behind the scenes, the Russians certainly would have asked for something in return. What’s the point of stealing an election if the new president isn’t going to work in your best interest?
That’s the part of the story Democrats continue to ignore. Since being elected, President Trump has done nothing to indicate he is a Putin puppet. In fact, all available evidence points in the opposite direction. That’s why it is no surprise that recent developments in Russian relations have garnered almost no attention from Democrats.
In the latest installment of this inconvenient story playing out in the real world, Russian fighter jets intercepted an American plane above international waters.
From The Hill:
A Russian fighter jet on Tuesday intercepted a U.S. B-52 bomber and later the same day a Norwegian patrol plane, Russia’s Defense Ministry told news outlets.
Russia sent a Sukhoi-27 fighter at 10 a.m. Moscow time to intercept the B-52 flying along Russia’s border over the international waters of the Baltic Sea, according to Tass Russian News Agency.
“The crew of Russia’s Sukhoi-27 jet approached the aircraft staying at a safe distance, identified it as a U.S. strategic bomber B-52 and escorted it for some time,” the Defense Ministry said.
Despite the fact that U.S. jets have every right to operate in this area, the Russian military has continued to provoke the Americans. However, Democrats have been suspiciously silent on these developments, even while painting Russia as the biggest threat to American democracy.
If Russia is such a threat, why aren’t Democrats making any noise about these continued provocations? The answer is simple; it doesn’t fit their narrative. It shows that the Trump-Russian connection doesn’t exist.
Of course, this isn’t the first time Russian-American relations have been tested since Trump took office. After a chemical attack in Syria, Trump authorized a tomahawk missile strike against a Syrian air base. Shortly after that, Trump authorized strikes on forces friendly to the Syrian government. Both actions drew harsh criticism from Russia.
Moreover, this isn’t the first time Russian and American planes have tangled in the skies. In fact, the U.S. military was forced to scramble jets on two separate occasions when Russian bombers were found just off the coast of Alaska.
Despite the obvious rise in tensions, Democrats have been silent on this. If Trump really is compromised by the Russians, he certainly has done nothing to show it. If Russia really did help Trump win the election, they clearly haven’t gained anything in return.
Reality hasn’t been kind to the liberal fairy tale, which is why they have decided to ignore it.
