Student walkout of Pence speech draws SURPRISE reaction…

A handful of students at the Catholic University of Notre Dame protested Mike Pence’s speech as commencement speaker for views he holds that are perfectly in line with Catholic social teaching.

The protest took the form of a walkout, with a few dozen students (we counted around fifty from this aerial shot) getting up and walking out as Pence began his speech. The University boasts roughly 12,000 students, so the walkout has to be compared in the context of a graduating class of around 3,000 or so students.

They didn’t get much support from the student body – and the parents in the audience weren’t all too pleased with it either. Not long-after the students involved got up and began to walk away, you could hear loud boos (at 1:35 in the video below, right as students begin to walk out):

Had the students who walked out stayed, they would’ve heard a lesson from which they would’ve greatly benefited.

Too bad they weren’t around to hear it.
