It’s no secret the education system here in America is broken thanks in large part to federal intervention and the desire of big government progressives to brainwash future generations with the hogwash of liberalism.
Think that sounds like a tinfoil hat theory? Just look at how kids entering college are behaving. Riots, looting, safe spaces and “white privilege” courses.
Nothing more needs to be said, right?
Well, President Trump has some super bad news for those who are big fans of the Department of Education and the federal government’s intrusions into public schools.
Yahoo News is reporting, President Donald Trump has signed an executive order that aims to reduce the federal government’s role in K-12 education.
Trump is giving Education Secretary Betsy DeVos 300 days to identify where Washington has overstepped its legal authority in education issues.
The secretary will then be able to modify and repeal regulations and guidance issued by her department.
Trump says previous administrations have wrongly forced states to comply with federal whims and dictates. He says the order is “another critical step to restoring local control.”
The president promised during his campaign last year to work toward giving greater control over education to local and state governments, shrinking the size of the federal government in the process.
This is something that’s been needed for a long, long time.
The primary responsibility for educating a child is the parent, and since parents belong to local communities, it’s always best if those closest to the kids have a greater role in the what, who, where, and when of schooling.
One thing that needs to go is Common Core, which is nothing more than a doorway to a national curriculum that leftists eventually hope will allow them to more easily indoctrinate kids with progressive ideology.
Let’s hope it’ll be on the chopping block.
