Since the day President Trump took office, the fight against the Islamic State has been ratcheted up. Trump ran on promises to eliminate the upstart terrorist organization, claiming the Obama administration’s strategy was too timid. Just a few months into his term, Trump seems well on his way to keeping that promise.
Perhaps nothing demonstrated Trump’s will to take the fight to ISIS more than deploying the “mother of all bombs.” After the terrorist organization killed an American Green Beret in Afghanistan, Trump authorized the use of the largest non-nuclear bomb in the U.S. arsenal against the terrorist base. The results of the MOAB strike were devastating, killing an estimated 100 fighters while destroying their complex system of tunnels. The message was clear; the new president is serious about winning this fight.
Of course, not everyone was happy about the large strike. After all, nobody sympathizes with terrorists better than American liberals. One such liberal, Josh Fox, lashed out at the president afterwards. Fox, the liberal filmmaker most famous for producing
documentaries propaganda films about fracking, called the president a “mass murderer” in a heated twitter rant:
The solution to terrorism, according to Fox, is to win the fight with love. If we just offered hugs instead of bombs, ISIS would be dead by now. Makes sense, right?
Thankfully, conservative filmmakers are now giving Fox a chance to put his plan into action. To do that, they started a crowdfunding campaign to send Fox to Afghanistan.
Filmmakers Phelim McAleer and Ann McElhinney, who have long trolled Fox for his climate change activism, want to help Fox be a part of the peace process he seeks. The duo has started a crowdfunding campaign entitled, “Send Josh Fox to Hug ISIS.” Should they reach their $2,500 goal, the filmmakers will have enough to pay for Fox’s airfare to Afghanistan, two nights in a hotel, “and a dozen roses so Fox can show ISIS how much he really loves them.”
The campaign is 46 percent funded, as of 4:00 p.m. Wednesday.
What could possibly go wrong? Either Fox will rid the world of ISIS, or we’ll all be treated to a liberal getting another much needed dose of reality. Clearly, this is a win/win.
Only liberals get worked up about killing terrorists, so it’s high time we give them a chance to try out their strategy. If you want to send Josh Fox to hug ISIS, you can find the funding campaign here.
