Actors have a well established reputation for doing weird, crazy, and off the wall things as a means of expressing how they feel about politics, and a whole host of other issues.
However, while many colorful characters occupy the entertainment industry, perhaps none are as kooky — at the moment — as former “Transformers” star Shia LaBeouf.
From his weird “just do it” performance art piece, to filming his own facial expressions while watching films he’s starred in, there’s no shortage of weird with this guy.
LaBeouf has not been shy about his strong distaste for President Trump, holding several protests to express his thoughts on the whole matter. He was actually arrested during one such event.
Actor and performance artist Shia LaBeouf has been charged with misdemeanor assault and a harassment violation after getting in a scuffle during a rally against Donald Trump early Thursday morning, according to New York Police Department spokesman Sgt. Thomas Antonetti.
LaBeouf was arrested and has been released, according to Det. Christopher Pisano.
LaBeouf and a 25-year-old anti-Trump protester got into a verbal exchange in front of the Museum of the Moving Image, and then police say LaBeouf pulled on the man’s scarf, scratching his face while doing so, according to Antonetti.
Well, it seems LaBeouf has bigger problems in his life than boohooing about our new commander in chief. His film career is currently going swirly, as evidenced by the hilariously embarrassing number of tickets sold to see his film in the UK.
According to Fox News:
Shia LaBeouf’s war thriller “Man Down” managed to triple its ticket sales from one to three.
The film, which also stars Gary Oldman and Kate Mara, sold one ticket its opening weekend in the U.K. after being released in one movie theater.
“I think we’ve sold three tickets in total,” the theater’s manager told the Hollywood Reporter adding she had never “experienced anything like it before.”
LaBeouf’s film did better in the United States but it was still considered a box office bomb after only grossing $454,490 domestically.
In total, “Man Down” has earned $26 in the U.K.
Ouch. That’s got to sting just a teeny, tiny bit, wouldn’t you agree?
It serves LaBeouf right for his wacky antics. He has desperately attempted to play the part of some poor misunderstood artist, as though a genius with acting abilities far too complex for us mere mortals to grasp.
He’s really developed quite an ego, so hopefully this epic failure will help humble him a little bit and bring him back to reality.
Don’t hold your breath, though…
