HILARIOUS: Liberals don’t want Bill Nye to lead their “March for Science” because he’s…

For years now, television personality Bill Nye has been at the center of political debate. Nye’s activism is mostly limited to climate change, where he has called for stricter environmental regulations. His climate advocacy has earned him the admiration of liberals, most of which are also climate alarmists.

Nye’s public persona made him a natural fit to lead the upcoming “March for Science” protest. But there was just one problem, liberals didn’t want him there. If liberals didn’t think Nye was the right fit to lead a science march because he’s – ya know – not a scientist, that might make sense. However, liberals didn’t want him there for an entirely different reason.

From Heatstreet:

The March for Science is having a tough time deciding whether the march should focus on “diversity and inclusion” or health and climate policy.

They were supposed to have gotten their internal issues under control, but this week a new fight broke out over whether Bill Nye the Science Guy, the former children’s television host who considers himself the leader of the “pro-science movement” should lead the protest. The problem? Nye is a “white male.”

Nye, who is not, in fact, a scientist, except on television (he’s an engineer by trade), was slated to be the March’s chair, and an announcement was made last week. But organizers quickly panicked that having Nye at the forefront of the event meant they might be substantiating the idea that scientists are only old white men.

You might be wondering what Nye’s race and gender have to do with his knowledge of science, but that just means you aren’t racist. In the fantasy world liberals live in, the only way to combat racism is with….. racism:

“I love Bill Nye,” said Stephani Page, a member of the March’s board, who was critical of  what she considered the March’s lack of diversity. “But I do feel comfortable saying to you what I said to the steering committee: He is a white male, and in that way he does represent the status quo of science, of what it is to be a scientist.”

Nye couldn’t seem to understand the issue:

For his part, Nye just seemed sort of confused about the whole thing, telling BuzzFeed, “I was born a dorky white guy who became an engineer. I’m playing the hand I was dealt. We can’t—this march can’t solve every problem all at once.”

Welcome to the club Bill. For years, liberals have been trying to make everything into a race issue. It was only a matter of time before that same hysteria entered the science debate as well.

In the end, the guy that is not a scientist shouldn’t be leading a “March for Science”. Too bad Nye was attacked for his race, not his lack of scientific expertise.
