BREAKING: House intel chair makes ruling on Trump’s wiretapping claim

Hands up, everyone who actually believes Donald Trump somehow colluded with the Russians to have Wikileaks release emails that proved devastating to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

Yep, thought so.

Now hands up, everyone who thinks it’s possible Barack Obama or his acolytes — or even Never Trumpers — did their best to dig up damaging information about Donald Trump one way or the other to delegitimize his presidency?

Well, we know the latter is true. Exhibit A: the 10-year-old “Access Hollywood” tapes of Trump saying rude things that magically appeared right before the election. Exhibit B: pages of Donald Trump’s tax returns somehow obtained and revealed on MSNBC last night (which show he actually DID pay taxes. Oh, the horror). Or perhaps Exhibit C: leaked information about Michael Flynn speaking to the Russian ambassador.

So, one way or the other, the dark forces that be are spending a lot of time and energy trying to destroy the Trump presidency. Which is why it’s important to keep this story in the proper perspective.

CNN reports, House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes said Wednesday that neither he nor the ranking Democrat on the committee have seen any evidence that then-President Barack Obama wiretapped Donald Trump last year, and want the Justice Department to respond to their requests for information by March 20.

“We don’t have any evidence that that took place and in fact I don’t believe — just in the last week of time, the people we’ve talked to — I don’t think there was an actual tap of Trump Tower,” Nunes said at a news conference, in reference to the baseless claim originally made by Trump several weeks ago.

Meanwhile, Lindsay Graham and his merry band continue to bang the drum regarding “Russian interference” in the election. There are apparently THREE Congressional investigations on the subject.

We wrote a letter — Sen. Whitehouse and myself — wanting to know if there’s evidence of a warrant issued by the Trump campaign,” Graham told CNN’s Chris Cuomo on “New Day. “He hasn’t answered that letter or confirmed if there’s a real investigation of the Trump campaign.”

“He needs to answer the letter and give the nation some information about what’s going on here,” Graham said.

Sir, there’s NOTHING going on here. There is no evidence! And there may be no evidence of an actual “wire tap” but it sure seems like there’s evidence of leaks, and they have to happen SOMEhow.

We reported just days ago that Judge Andrew Napolitano made this bombshell claim: Three intelligence sources have informed Fox News that President Obama went outside the chain of command. He didn’t use the NSA, he didn’t use the CIA, he didn’t use the FBI, and he didn’t use the Department of Justice… He used GCHQ. What the heck is GCHQ? That’s the initials for the British spying agency. They have 24/7 access to the NSA database. So by simply having two people go to them and say ‘President Obama needs transcripts  of conversations involving Candidate Trump, conversations involving President-Elect Trump,’ [Obama’s] able to get it, and there’s no American fingerprints on this.

CNN says, The White House has vacillated on Trump’s claims in the last two days. Press Secretary Sean Spicer said Monday that Trump did not mean literally that Obama had him wiretapped. But on Tuesday, Spicer said Trump was “extremely confident” he would be vindicated by the evidence.

“I think there’s significant reporting about surveillance techniques that existed throughout the 2016 election,” White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer said, without providing any examples.

“He feels very confident that what will ultimately come of this will vindicate him,” Spicer said.

We shall see, won’t we?
