The kids are alright – except for former vice presidential candidate, Tim Kaine’s.
Apparently still not over Hillary Clinton’s and his father’s loss, Linwood Kaine was arrested for violence against supporters at a pro-Donald Trump rally in Minnesota’s state capitol. One pro-Trump woman was struck in the head with a smoke bomb, but says she was uninjured.
According to NBC, Kaine was among “five or six people all dressed in black clothing from head to toe” who entered the State Capitol and set off fireworks and smoke bombs, according to a St. Paul Police Department incident report.
Police then spotted the suspects in a park near the building, and the group fled in different directions, St. Paul Police Department spokesman Steve Linders told NBC News.
Linders said officers ordered Kaine to the ground but he refused and a chemical irritant was used. Kaine continued to resist officers, Linders said, and an officer used a knee strike to subdue him before taking him into custody.
Kaine, along with five others were taken into custody. According to the Pioneer Press, no charges were filed against Kaine or those other men arrested, but the situation is still being investigated.
Meanwhile, Sen.Tim Kaine and his wife released a public statement on the arrest which stated “We love that our three children have their own views and concerns about current political issues. They fully understand the responsibility to express those concerns peacefully.”
Well, those are some “alternative facts” of the situation, which included setting off fireworks and smoke-bombs, and squaring off with police officers while resisting arrest. If this is what he does when he’s peacefully protesting, what does he do when he loses his temper?
