YIKES: Look who met with Trump AND Ivanka today…

NEW YORK, NY - MAY 31: Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump enters a news conference next to his daughter Ivanka at Trump Tower where he addressed issues about the money he pledged to donate to veterans groups following a skipped a debate in January before the Iowa caucuses on May 31, 2016 in New York City. Trump had previously said he had raised $6 million at the nationally broadcast fund-raiser he attended instead of the debate and that he would donate it all to veterans groups. As Donald Trump continues to hold interviews in Trump Tower, Ivanka Trump was meeting with a former Democrat presidential nominee you may have forgotten about. Al Gore was among those who wandered into Trump Tower earlier today, meeting with Ivanka to discuss climate change (of course).

According to the Washington Examiner, it was not clear whether Gore initiated the meeting with Ivanka, and transition officials declined to provide details on what the duo hoped to discuss beyond “climate issues.” However, a source close to Trump told Politico last week the 35-year-old mother of three hopes to make climate change one of her signature issues during her father’s presidency. Trump has previously called climate change a hoax and promised to dismantle many of President Obama’s ambitious climate policies.

Back in 2010, Trump urged the Nobel committee to strip Gore of his Nobel Peace Prize after a record snowstorm on the East Coast. As the Daily Caller reminds us, in May, Gore said Trump’s position on climate change “should concern everyone.” “He has said some things on the climate crisis that I think should concern everyone,” Gore said during an interview with the “Today” show. “I’m not Pollyanna-ish, but I do think that there is still some basis for hope” he continued.

After today’s meeting, however, we learned that he also met with the Donald as Gore told reporters in Trump Tower that “I had a lengthy and very productive session with the president-elect, it was a sincere search for areas of common ground. I had a meeting beforehand with Ivanka Trump. The bulk of the time was with the president-elect, Donald Trump. I found it an extremely interesting conversation, and to be continued, and I’m just going to leave it at that.”

Who knows what ended up happening, but do you honestly believe Trump would appoint Gore to any position at all? He does still have his Nobel, at least.
