We just saw something JAW-DROPPING in the Thanksgiving Day parade…

The virtual halls here at www.allenbwest.com are pretty much empty, as everyone is taking a well-deserved and important day off to enjoy the blessings we share as Americans – and boy, do we have lots to be thankful for this year.

As I have for many years, I turned on the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade to get into the holiday spirit. The very first guest invited to the viewing stand with hosts Kevin Frazier and Thea Andrews was 25-year-old Jasmine Tookes.

For those who don’t know, Tookes is a Victoria’s Secret model and was recently chosen to wear the…FANTASTY BRA. Each year during the Victoria’s Secret televised fashion show one lucky model gets to model the “Fantasy Bra.”

Apparently, being chosen is a big deal.

This year’s Fantasy Bra called “Bright Night” was designed by Eddie Borgo with diamonds and emeralds and has an estimated value of $3 million.

During the parade broadcast, Frazier and Andrews asked Tookes a few questions about her upcoming honor. Tookes said she had to sit for three hours in plaster so the bra mold could be made to fit her.

So may I just interject here? We’re watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. It’s an all-ages affair – primarily children – on a day when we celebrate our family and God’s blessings.

And we’re talking about plaster casts of BOOBS?

But It’s a giant honor. To parade a fancy bra and underpants on television. Here’s an excerpt of an interview People Magazine did with Tookes.

PEOPLE: Where were you when you found out?

Jasmine: I was actually on a Victoria’s Secret shoot and [senior creative of VS] Ed Razek pulled all of us aside and was like, We’re gonna do interviews right now — Jasmine, you’re first. So they had all these cameras around me and I had no idea what we were gonna be talking about. We started the interviews and we were talking about bralettes, and all of a sudden after the first question he just threw it out there: How would you feel to wear the Fantasy Bra this year? And I immediately dropped into tears. It was such a shock and so amazing.

P: As an Angel, do you know you’re in the running to wear it? Do you have to audition or is it a total surprise?

J: Not even one clue at all.

P: You’re a relative rookie — you just got your “Angel Wings” last year. You must be one of the first models to be honored in such a short period of time. What does that mean to you?

J: It’s crazy to me because I looked up so many supermodels growing up like Tyra Banks and Heidi Klum who wore this Fantasy Bra and I never thought that I would actually get the chance to wear it. It’s such a dream come true and I still don’t even feel like it’s real.

Oh, and here’s Tookes modeling the bra.

But here’s what made my head blow up. CBS and the parade are celebrating the excitement and honor this beautiful young woman is feeling because she gets to stick her rack in plaster for three hours and ultimately strut down a runway in her underwear.

Are you frigging kidding me?

Ok, I’ll leave you to your celebrations now. But I simply had to share this.

[Happy Thanksgiving everyone]
