Well folks, just when you think you’ve seen everything, something new shows up to smack you upside the head.
You know, liberals get their knickers in a twist over the way foie gras is made – shoving food down the gullets of geese to make their livers grow.
Yet they have no problem force-feeding the majority of Americans with their social agenda and insisting we celebrate our own cultural demise.
In just the last 12 months or so, we’ve been told there are no longer just two genders, we must accept whatever anyone “identifies” as, we must open our bathrooms to all genders and not to do so is bigoted and insensitive. We have to provide “safe spaces” on campuses where snowflake cupcake students will be protected from comments they find offensive. We’ve seen one of our most celebrated male athletes parade his new female self in a corset and high heels.
And this is all supposed to be “normal.” Never mind the fact that the transgender community represents about three-tenths of a percent of our population. All of a sudden, this group deserves to be celebrated, lionized and honored.
And in the latest example of force-feeding, the venerable drugstore cosmetic brand, Cover Girl, has now unveiled its very first “cover BOY.”

He is openly gay, 17-year-old James Charles Dickinson.
And apparently (unbeknownst to me) he is part of a growing community of “beauty boys” – males who are not transgender, but are gay and love wearing make-up as a creative self-expression.
The fashion magazine Marie Claire wrote an article about these boys in May of this year, saying The boys in beauty aren’t blurring gender—they’re expanding it. Their unfurling of masculinity to include more variation and more expression is a valuable—even necessary—movement at a time when our country is having increasingly heightened conversations around gender. Their re-envisioning of what we consider to be “male” is a reminder that, for too long, masculinity has been kept in a rigid box, too delicate to touch or reinterpret.
The fact that millennial men don’t even necessarily equate makeup and femininity indicates a new chapter in gender politics—a modern sequel to what male drag culture pioneered for most of the 20th century. Coming up from the corners of Instagram and rapidly moving to center stage, the beauty boys movement parallels drag becoming more and more mainstream… beauty boys are at the tipping point of popular culture.
Naturally, those awful, narrow-minded, old-fashioned conservatives were quick to weigh in on this joyous moment.

Now, face painting for men isn’t anything new. Native Americans put on war paint, didn’t they? The Maori men of New Zealand painted their faces for the traditional “haka” dance performed before battle (and rugby games). But they did not feminize their faces with false eyelashes, eyeshadow and lipstick shades generally worn by women. Somehow Johnny Depp and Prince managed to rock the eyeliner I guess, but…I’m going out on a limb to say the majority of Americans still identify with and feel most comfortable in a binary gender world. I know I do.
