While Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton professes to be a woman of the people, the truth is she prefers “the people” to be kept at an ample distance from her royal highness. That’s why she has to shut down a New York City department store just to get a haircut, for example. And insists on travel only by private jet and staying in hotels’ presidential suites. Even Hillary’s staff must fly First Class. Wouldn’t want to risk brushing elbows with the common people.
And it’s pretty clear the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Like her mother, Chelsea Clinton prefers to keep the “little people” at a distance, and — also like her mother — does so with a hard-to-match hypocritical flair.
So it should surprise no one that Chelsea was spotted Wednesday using a private jet to travel to — wait for it — a “clean energy” roundtable in Asheville, North Carolina, campaigning on behalf of her mother.
Clinton first attended two events in Greenville, North Carolina, stopping by a campaign office and then going to an event at East Carolina University to discuss college affordability.
[Also rich — the Clintons “fighting for” college affordability, while they continue to take six-figure fees to speak on campus. Of course, to be fair, those private jets aren’t gonna pay for themselves.]
After her two events in Greenville, Clinton was scheduled to attend a “clean energy roundtable” in Asheville, which is about a 5-hour drive away. But instead of driving or flying on a commercial plane, Clinton opted to a take a private jet. The NTK Network posted a tracking video that shows Clinton boarding the private jet on Wednesday.
The Clinton campaign pledged last year they would be carbon neutral on the trail and that they would be “offsetting the carbon footprint of the campaign and that includes travel.” The Clinton team has yet to fulfill this promise, however, as the campaign is using private jets to travel to events.
[Shock! Hillary failing to fulfill a promise.]
Hillary Clinton has a long history of using private jets rather than flying commercial. While Clinton was secretary of state, she once referred to commercial flights as “burdensome.”
The Clintons are not the only liberals who have left carbon footprints while lecturing others about how to travel without leaving their own. Former Maryland Democratic Gov. Martin O’Malley and liberal billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer were seen leaving a green energy conference in 2014 in a Chevrolet Suburban, one of the least environmentally friendly vehicles on the market. Steyer has donated millions to various environmental groups and Democratic campaigns.
For the Clintons — and most Lear jet liberals — it’s do as I say, not as I do. What’s good for the little people is most certainly not good enough for them.
Everyone else should pay more taxes — while they shelter their own wealth via crooked “charities.” A wall protecting the border is outrageous and racist — unless it’s encircling their own estates or the Democrat National Convention to keep the riff raff out (or, oops, unless you’re Hillary Clinton in 2006 when she voted on a border wall). The Second Amendment is “flexible” — but they’ll keep THEIR armed security (but of course).
And, of course, when it comes to climate change, Chelsea’s mother wants to build upon President Obama’s climate change regulations — and even hinted recently that she’s leaving the door open to a carbon tax, hinting that the Democratic nominee could eventually back the controversial idea in order to win over Bernie Sanders supporters.
Of course, rest assured, if a President Hillary gets into the White House and has her way with regulating and carbon taxing the heck out of us, she and her family will still be jetting around in their private planes.
