“Provide for the common defense” — that is the constitutional charge given to our federal government. It appears there’s some confusion within the Obama administration as to what that means.
Our US Navy, the “Global Force for Good” is at its lowest point for surface warships since 1917. Just to put things in perspective, during the Reagan years, our Navy had some 580 surface warships; today it’s down to around 283, and the goal is to reduce that force to 230 vessels – that’s what sequestration has meant to our venerable sea service. Not to mention we’ve recently witnessed the subjugation of our Sailors being forced to their knees at gunpoint by the Iranians.
We’ve also seen the Iranians harass our naval warships in the Persian Gulf…along with Russian fighter jets buzzing our vessels in the international waters of the Baltic Sea. Now, with all of this, you’d think the Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, would focus on rebuilding the strength and honor of our Navy…but you’d be wrong.
As reported by Military.com, “As the Pentagon makes changes to allow transgender service members to serve openly, the Navy is holding training to educate all troops on the new policies.
In an all-Navy message published Tuesday, Chief of Naval Personnel Vice Adm. Robert Burke said a three-pronged training approach will equip senior leaders and rank-and-file personnel for the changes.
“This training will emphasize policies and expectations of personal behavior,” the message states. Beginning Nov. 1, mobile training teams composed of Navy fleet representatives and subject matter expects will be dispatched to deliver face-to-face briefs to senior leaders, including commanding officers, executive officers, command master chiefs, and chiefs of boat. These sessions will also be open to equal opportunity advisers, ombudsmen and other command-designated representatives who will have a role in training the tenant commands on policies governing transgender troops.
A spokeswoman for Naval Personnel Command, Lt. Jessica Anderson, told Military.com in an email that a commander’s tool kit is being developed to guide training, and that additional information about what these training sessions will include will be available in a future message to the fleet.
“Service members are expected to maintain standards of conduct and treat each other with dignity and respect,” she said. “Training for sailors will be conducted by command triads via mobile training teams or DVD with a facilitation guide if the unit is in a remote area and unable to receive face-to-face training. There will also be webinars for COs to ask questions prior to delivering training to their commands.”
According to the message, DVDs and discussion guides will be mailed to each unit, along with copies of the commander’s tool kit and a Defense Department guide being created to explain policy. The webinars, made available to leadership teams, will be provided after mobile training team visits as an opportunity for subject matter experts to answer any remaining questions before fleet training begins.”
As we shared here earlier, the U.S. Army is committed to spending millions of dollars to provide sex change surgery for these individuals, such as Army PVT Bradley Manning, suffering from the mental condition known as gender dysphoria.
We are within six weeks from the presidential election, and the choice is simple. If we want more of this ideological agenda of social engineering of our military at a time when we face multiple threats along the full spectrum of belligerence, you vote for the continuation of Obama’s policy.
Imagine the message this little tidbit sends to the Islamic jihadists such as Boko Haram in Nigeria all the way over to Abu Sayyaf in the Philippines…with all the respective savage barbaric groups like ISIS, Hamas, Hezbollah, al-Qaida, and others in between?
But also we face the existential threats from state actors like Russia, Iran, China, and North Korea. And they’re picking up our papers and reading Military.com knowing we’re fussing over our National Defense Authorization Act because of a doggone bird, the sage grouse. And we’re implementing training programs for transgender integration? Iran and Russia must be really scared.
Of course, the retort from the progressive socialist left is that this is all about “fairness” — a quality that has no place on the battlefield, especially this one. The military is not an institution which bows to accommodate individual behavior. Once you go down that road.. well, it’s a dangerous one.
The military exists to deter threats against our Republic and our interests and allies. When other measures such as diplomatic, informational or economic means and deterrence fails, it is the mission of our military to fight and win those wars declared as one of the four elements of our national power.
At this time, when the world is on a chaotic path to destabilization, it is not the time to play fun games of cultural participation trophy with our military. Sorry progressive socialists, we live in a Machiavellian world, not one of unicorns and rainbows — the latter may be the cause celebre for some, but should not be an objective of our Department of Defense.
The U.S. military is not about fairness. There’s many a reason why individuals are disqualified for joining. We fight as a unit. But when ideologues disregard that fundamental premise and tend to believe we’re about accommodating the individual and their behaviors, likes and dislikes, we will no longer be a unit, but rather just a gathering of individuals waiting to have their self-interests served, not the interests of our Republic.
I’ve said it before, and will say it again: it’s time to eliminate the respective service secretaries, Army, Navy, and Air Force as they’re nothing more than political pawns and operatives whose goals are not what’s best for our force…but rather supporting political and ideological agendas regardless of the detriment to our men and women in uniform.
This is a time for choosing…do so wisely, and know your security is dependent upon that choice. Then again, you can continue to vote for “fairness.”
