It must be Friday, because the FBI just released another batch of documents from its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s email scandal. Of course, FBI Director James Comey maintains his agency simply releases the documents when “they’re ready” — and they just happen to always be ready late in the day on Friday, even on the Friday before Labor Day as was the case the last time. Pure coincidence, I’m sure, for the “most transparent administration ever.”
Speaking of the “most transparent administration in history,” turns out the man who proclaimed his administration to be such — none other than President Obama himself — makes an appearance in the latest FBI document dump. Well, except it turns out “most transparent” president ever uses a pseudonym — at least when he’s communicating to his Secretary of State on her insecure, private email server.
President Barack Obama used a pseudonym in email communications with Hillary Clinton and others, according to FBI records made public Friday.
The disclosure came as the FBI released its second batch of documents from its investigation into Clinton’s private email server during her tenure as secretary of state.
The 189 pages the bureau released includes interviews with some of Clinton’s closest aides, such as Huma Abedin and Cheryl Mills; senior State Department officials; and even Marcel Lazar, better known as the Romanian hacker “Guccifer.”
In an April 5, 2016 interview with the FBI, Abedin was shown an email exchange between Clinton and Obama, but the longtime Clinton aide did not recognize the name of the sender.
“Once informed that the sender’s name is believed to be pseudonym used by the president, Abedin exclaimed: ‘How is this not classified?'” the report says. “Abedin then expressed her amazement at the president’s use of a pseudonym and asked if she could have a copy of the email.”
The State Department has refused to make public that and other emails Clinton exchanged with Obama. Lawyers have cited the “presidential communications privilege,” a variation of executive privilege, in order to withhold the messages under the Freedom of Information Act.
The report doesn’t provide more details on the contents of that particular email exchange, but says it took place on June 28, 2012, and had the subject line: “Re: Congratulations.” It may refer to the Supreme Court’s ruling that day upholding a key portion of the Obamacare law.
We’re not told exactly what pseudonym the president used — no doubt y’all can fill in the blanks with a few ideas of your own. (Apparently, ‘Carlos Danger’ was already in use by another high-profile Democrat, also connected to Huma Abedin.)
The new revelation raises many questions, of course. Including, how come the president claimed he didn’t know about Hillary’s private server until he saw it in the news? Here’s a little flashback to March 7, 2015, via CBS News:
President Obama only learned of Hillary Clinton’s private email address use for official State Department business after a New York Times report, he told CBS News in an interview.
CBS News senior White House correspondent Bill Plante asked Mr. Obama when he learned about her private email system after his Saturday appearance in Selma, Alabama.
“The same time everybody else learned it through news reports,” the president told Plante.
“The policy of my administration is to encourage transparency, which is why my emails, the BlackBerry I carry around, all those records are available and archived,” Mr. Obama said. “I’m glad that Hillary’s instructed that those emails about official business need to be disclosed.”
There he is again plugging the “transparency,” even as he knowingly and blatantly lies to the American people.
And, really, why on earth would the President of the United States need to use a pseudonym to communicate to his Secretary of State? The mind reels… and no doubt we will be digging in to better understand this in the coming days. Gosh, it would be a great thing to ask Hillary Clinton in Monday’s debate…
But what should be immediately clear is that President Obama KNEW of — and, indeed, was complicit in — the exposing of our nation’s highest classified information. We often say the fish rots from the head — and indeed that is true — but with President Obama and Hillary Clinton together, we must acknowledge the fish is rotten to the core.
transparent corrupt administration ever.
