MSNBC tries to use NYC bombing to bash GUNS; backfires BIG-TIME

Just about nine months into the year, we may already have our winner for dumbest Tweet of the year.

The Tweet came after Ahmad Khan Rahami, the suspect in the NJ and NY weekend bombings, was arrested following a shootout with police. MSNBC host Chris Hayes decided that was the perfect time to reflect on the terrorist’s use of explosives vs. guns — presumably in the typical liberal attempt to use any attack as a chance to bash guns.

The mockery came instantly:

OK – maybe we’re being unfair to Hayes. Considering that Rahami’s bombs killed no one, yes technically he might have been better off — and his victims worse off — going on a shooting rampage. But that’s the fault of his own incompetence in using explosives, not that he didn’t instead carry out his attack with firearms.

We’re lucky the attacker wasn’t competent enough with explosives to do the damage Timothy McVeigh did in the Oklahoma City bombing (168 dead, 680+ injured, $652+ million in damage). There are countless other ways a terror attack can be carried out that would be even more “effective” (from the terrorist’s point of view) than a shooting, such as the Bastille Day attacks in Nice, France, where 86 were killed and 434 injured with a truck.

Need I remind Chris that the most deadly terror attack ever on American soil didn’t employ any guns either?

Yep, even in the wake of three terror attacks — two involving bombs and one involving a knife, NONE involving guns — liberals will still try to use it to push their anti-gun agenda. Amazing.
