OUCH: Fmr Obama adviser SHREDS Hillary; ‘what’s the cure for…’

It’s often said that the coverup can be worse than the lie. And Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton may be the living poster child for that maxim.

This dubious distinction was, once again, on display yesterday, after Hillary’s campaign was forced to announce the candidate had been diagnosed with pneumonia — two days prior — as a way of explaining away her very public collapse at the 9/11 memorial ceremony earlier that morning. This, of course, was after they initially tried to explain it by suggesting Hillary had simply “overheated” and was “feeling great” after some rest.

Even for a candidate the public already does not trust, this piling on of one new excuse on top of another — and finally acknowledging a cover-up on top of it — appears to be inflicting some serious damage. And many would — rightly — argue this is all self-inflicted.

Former Obama adviser David Axelrod cut right to the chase:

Of course, Axelrod is not jus referring to the recent episodes with the Democrat presidential nominee’s health; she exhibited a similar “unhealthy penchant for privacy” when she chose to use a private email server as secretary of state.

What Axelrod calls an “unhealthy penchant for privacy,” some of us might call willful attempts to keep the American people in the dark.

Either way you slice it, the end result is problematic for a woman who wants to be president. As Damon Linker writes for The Week:

Political trust is a fragile thing. Once it’s gone, it’s exceedingly difficult to get back — and without it, there’s no basis on which to dismiss conspiracy theories that even normally level-headed observers will begin, for perfectly understandable reasons, to entertain.

Perhaps even more to the point: when “conspiracy theories” are revealed to not be conspiracies at all — but actually exposed to be the truth that flies in the face of the lies the candidate and her supporters are attempting to feed the American people — and when it happens time and time again, it’s called people waking up to the truth.

Could it finally be happening?
