Democrat presidential nominee Hillary Clinton has effectively dominated the headlines on this 15th anniversary of 9/11 — after her “medical episode” and subsequent attempts to spin that. While Hillary’s medical incident caused her to leave the New York City 9/11 ceremony early, it was President Obama’s own impatience that apparently prompted him to cause the Pentagon ceremony he attended to begin early. Never mind marking the time the attack took place; the president had his own timetable to keep apparently.
As The Daily Caller reports:
A moment of silence remembering the September 11 victims at a Pentagon memorial service began early in order to accommodate a restless President Obama, a Department of Defense official told The Daily Caller.
A source close to the situation told TheDC that Obama arrived early to the memorial service — which took place at the Pentagon — and wanted to get things started early.
A Department of Defense official confirmed that the moment of silence was moved up a few minutes and that Obama was the one who made the decision, saying the president “moved early.”
The moment of silence was originally slotted to take place at 9:37 AM — the time at which the Pentagon was attacked on September 11 — but ended up taking place a few minutes early.
After the moment of silence, President Obama gave a speech about the need to honor the 3,000 victims of September 11.
“The question before us, as always, is: How do we preserve the legacy of those we lost? How do we live up to their example? And how do we keep their spirit alive in our own hearts?” the president said.
What better way to honor them than to appear restless and impatient to get this pesky memorial over with? Way to show your respect, Mr. President.
(Of course, if you’re President Obama, you could also show respect by releasing terrorists — some of whom played a role in 9/11 — from Guantanamo Bay. Or how about expediting immigration from terrorist hotspots, without proper vetting? Or refusing to utter the words “radical Islam” for what not only killed the 3,000 victims on 9/11 but continues to kill Americans and other innocent souls across the globe.)
To be fair, it was a lovely day in DC and the golf season is waning even faster than his days as president.
And by now, should we really expect the president to be about anyone other than…. himself?
