Once again, Hollywood — the epicenter of loud-mouthed liberalism — has exposed itself as being the most hypocritical piece of real estate in America. The gazillionaire producers, directors and actors of Hollyweird love to promote the notion that liberalism is all about kindness, fairness and equality of treatment – especially for women. But they consistently fail to add the caveat “that fairness and equality of treatment doesn’t count for women who lean conservative.”
This week, Comedy Central premiered its “Roast of Rob Lowe.” If you’re not familiar with celebrity “roasts” as made popular by the late Dean Martin, the general idea is that throughout the night friends and/or contemporaries take turns at the podium poking light-hearted comical jabs at the subject of the roast.
There were just two problems with Rob Lowe’s roast: the jabs were not light-hearted, nor were they aimed at Mr. Lowe.
Conservative pundit Ann Coulter was one of the celebrities invited onto the dais and given an opportunity to take jabs at the actor whose credits include “The West Wing,” “Wayne’s World,” and “St. Elmo’s Fire,” amongst others. But Rob Lowe got off easy. Instead of pouncing on Lowe, most of the other presenters used their time at the mic to absolutely shred Coulter. They attacked her looks, her political views and even went so far as to call her a “two-faced bitch,” a “transvestite whore” and suggested the world would be better off if she were dead.
Nothing about these insults had anything to do with Lowe and none were anywhere close to funny. But that doesn’t matter in Hollywood — so long as the object of your vicious “whore” attacks is a conservative. At one point, even all-American boy and NFL hero Peyton Manning managed to hit beneath the belt proclaiming, “As you all know, earlier this year, Ann Coulter won the Kentucky Derby!”
Remember, this was supposed to be a roast of Rob Lowe, not Ann Coulter.
A thoroughly unknown and insignificant comic, Pete Davidson, added this during his time at the mic, “A racist c***. If you are here, Ann, who is scaring the crows away from our crops?”
In fact, as the Good Men Project noted:
Our lives are so filled with hate speech that earlier this week Comedy Central offered up 90 minutes of entertainment based on a woman being called a “c***” 19 times, a “racist c***” just for added impact, and then being told that she really ought to just kill herself.
How’s that for quality, family-friendly humor? Har-har-hardy-har-har. Talk about a knee-slapper.
“Ann is one of the most repugnant, hateful, hatchet-face b*tches alive,” British comedian Jimmy Carr declared. The audience and other members of the celebrity “roasters” cheered. “It’s not too late to change, Ann. You could kill yourself,” he then added.
Other members on the dais had these pleasant “jokes” to contribute:
David Spade — “Ann hopes the Republicans can hold onto the House so she can still haunt it.”
Jewel — “As a feminist, I can’t support everything that’s been said tonight. But as someone who hates Ann Coulter, I’m delighted.” Nothing like sticking to one’s principles, hey Jewel?
Ralph Macchio, who hasn’t been relevant since the Karate Kid 9 tossed in, “I respect you. You are the one female commentator who is not afraid to stand up …to take a leak.”
Nikki Glaser — “Ann, you are awful. The only person you will ever make happy is the Mexican who digs your grave.”
Having a hard time believing such vitriol could come from the oh-so tolerant and kind liberal elites? See clips of the event here.
The loving, kind, tolerant left. Is there a more hateful band of people this side of ISIS?
