After Trump’s speech, pollster Frank Luntz makes HUGE prediction…

As Donald Trump wrapped up the GOP convention last night by accepting the party’s nomination for president, pollster Frank Luntz offered one huge prediction.

Via the Blaze:

While many suggested Trump’s speech was overly negative and maybe hurtful, Luntz said the address could be enough to catapult the billionaire businessman beyond his opponent Hillary Clinton, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

“Mark my words,” the Republican pollster tweeted. “This speech will put Trump even or ahead of Hillary in polls by Monday, when the Democratic convention begins.”

According to an instant poll conducted by CNN/ORC, 57 percent of voters who watched Trump’s speech had a “very positive” reaction, while 18 percent said their reaction was “somewhat positive” and 24 percent said the address had a “negative effect.”

So that’s 75% of those who watched Trump’s speech having a “very positive” or “somewhat positive” reaction to it. Which, of course, is causing Trump naysayers much angst:

Additionally, 73 percent of voters who watched the speech — most of whom are likely Republican — said the policies the GOP nominee proposed will send the U.S. in the “right direction” and only 24 percent said his proposals will push the nation in the “wrong direction.” At the same time, 32 percent said the speech didn’t have much effect and 10 percent said they are now less likely to vote for Trump in November.

Of course, there is the ‘conventional wisdom’ phenomenon known as the post-convention bump in polls. Regardless, Trump pulling ahead of Hillz in polls will be such a nice launch to the Democrat’s own convention kicking off next week. Leave it to Trump to steal her spotlight again!

Will be interesting to see how Hillary’s convention next week rubs off on her, now that Trump has put her on major defense. Not to mention the fact that, when it comes to Hillary, to know her is not to love her; the less exposure the better her chances, as the DNC recognized early on this election cycle.

We may see once again that this election cycle throws conventional wisdom out the window…
