BREAKING: Dallas PD on lockdown, SWAT dispatched…

Days after law enforcement suffered the greatest loss of life in a single day since 9/11, the Dallas Police Department is still under fire. It’s only been two days – and an anonymous threat has forced the Dallas PD on lock-down, even requiring a SWAT team to be called.

Dallas News reports: A threat against Dallas police and the sighting of a masked man near their headquarters put officers on high alert Saturday afternoon.

The building was put on lockdown when police received an anonymous threat against them. A man wearing a black mask was spotted in a parking garage behind the headquarters and SWAT officers surrounded the building with guns drawn.

The parking garage is gated, so it would be difficult to get into by a vehicle without an access card. But it would be possible to enter the garage on foot. SWAT officers checked cars near headquarters and went through nearby Dumpsters.

Officers, including homicide and robberies detectives, who work evenings are inside the building.

SWAT officers were dispatched to HQ, and a police source said a lockdown was in effect, but that wasn’t confirmed in the police statement.

WFAA-TV (Channel 8) was reporting the threat came from an armed group in Houston.

This story is still developing. We still don’t know who the shooter is, or if there is any connection to the killer(s) at the Dallas Black Lives Matter march two days ago.
