SURPRISE?! We’ve just learned what Cruz will do at GOP convention…

Republican presumptive nominee Donald Trump had a meeting today in Washington, D.C. with former candidate Sen. Ted Cruz and it appears some plans for the GOP Convention have been finalized.

Cruz accepted Trump’s invitation to speak at the event; however, he’s still not gone on the record to officially endorse him for president.

TheBlaze is reporting, The two Republicans met today in Washington, D.C., Cruz’s spokeswoman confirmed, and Trump asked the former 2016 presidential hopeful to speak at the party’s convention this month in Cleveland. Cruz “said he would be happy to do so,” his spokeswoman Catherine Frazier said in a statement.

However, there was “no discussion of any endorsement,” Frazier added.

The move is a reversal for Trump, who had previously said he would not allow former 2016 rivals to speak at the RNC unless they had given him their endorsements.

But Cruz, who has been an outspoken critic of many of Trump’s moves so far this election cycle, has yet to endorse to the presumptive nominee. And he has asked state party leaders to allow him to keep the 559 delegates he secured throughout the primary process.

“Mr. Trump also asked Sen. Cruz for his counsel on future judicial nominations, and Cruz responded he would continue to do everything he can to help ensure principled constitutionalists on the courts,” she said.

In addition to speaking at the GOP convention, Trump is asking Cruz to provide counsel in helping choose judicial nominations. Cruz has a proven track record of standing boldly before the Supreme Court and defending our constitutional rights against liberal assaults on our liberty.

His insight in picking a solid conservative for the court is enormously valuable and would be a major help for Trump should he win the presidency in November.

To go along with that, Donald’s inclusion of Cruz in this process may help win over some of the #NeverTrump crowd, as one of the big concerns to come from the group stems from uncertainty about who the real estate mogul might choose to fill former Justice Scalia’s vacancy on the Supreme Court.

It’ll be interesting to see what Cruz will speak about during the convention and whether or not he’ll end up backing Trump against Hillary in an official capacity.
