WATCH: Why this veteran was dragged off a military base has Christians OUTRAGED

I’m perplexed by the Obama administration desire to censor the transcripts of Omar Mateen’s 911 call. Of course they ended up having to release the unredacted version of the call, as if we didn’t already know what was said.

What manner of hubris and deceit would have Loretta Lynch believe she could “put one over” on the American people? But the real question is, why would they want to prevent the truth to be known about the second largest Islamic terror attack in U.S. history? Why is it that this administration wants to shield Islamism from any scrutiny, and actually keep the American people in the dark? Now, this is a very interesting event, especially in light of what just happened to a distinguished 33-year U.S. Air Force veteran at a private retirement ceremony.

As reported by Religion News, “Today [Monday], First Liberty Institute sent a demand letter to military leaders, asking them to apologize for assaulting Oscar Rodriguez, a decorated Air Force veteran with over thirty years of military service, and kicking him off Travis Air Force Base for giving a speech that included the word “God.”

Air Force Master Sergeant Charles Roberson heard Rodriguez deliver a patriotic flag-folding speech at a retirement ceremony and asked Rodriguez to give the same speech at Roberson’s retirement ceremony on April 3, held at Travis Air Force Base.

“I saw Oscar perform the speech live just one month prior to my own retirement ceremony and I really wanted him to be able to perform that same way at my ceremony,” said MSgt Roberson. Rodriguez agreed to Roberson’s request, but when he began the patriotic flag-folding speech at the retirement ceremony, multiple uniformed Airmen (under orders of Lt. Col. Michael Sovitsky) assaulted and forcibly removed Rodriguez because his speech included the word “God.”

After dragging him out of the retirement ceremony, Travis Air Force Base personnel ordered Rodriguez off the base. “The Air Force had no right to assault a citizen, much less a 33-year military veteran, because they didn’t want him to mention ‘God,’” says Mike Berry, Director of Military Affairs for First Liberty Institute.

“Mr. Rodriguez has a constitutional right to free speech and religious expression, even on a military base. The military broke the law and abused its power. We expect the Air Force to hold those responsible accountable, and allow Mr. Rodriguez to continue honoring the flag and other veterans who have sacrificed for our country.”

This is beyond belief and absolutely unconscionable. Does anyone believe if this were some Islamic cleric speaking of Allah that the same would have happened? And if it did, the scourge of Obama and the left would hit.

So, where is the outrage that the DoJ would scrub mention of Allah by an Islamic jihadist, Omar Mateen, and replace it with God, yet, this Air Force veteran is not allowed to speak the word God at a private retirement ceremony.

This is the result of the work of one former Air Force officer, graduate of the Air Force Academy, Mikey Weinstein, head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation — yes, an oxymoronic title.

We reported here about Weinstein’s attempt to have Air Force Major General Craig Olson court-martialed because he spoke of his Christian faith in uniform at a National Prayer Day event. Where are we heading in America? We’re falling all over ourselves to avoid condemning violent Islamic jihadism, yet we condemn Christians…and those who serve in uniform.

What in God’s name possessed this misguided Air Force officer to order such an action against a veteran, an American? I’m truly at a loss for words here but happy that Plano, Texas-based First Liberty will take up this cause for Oscar Rodriguez. This is beyond belief and a true travesty. Apparently the only folks who have a First Amendment freedom of religion right are Islamic jihadists.

We see the progressive socialist left seeking to erode and undermine the Second Amendment — it seems they clearly have their sights on freedom of religion, redefining it as freedom of worship where they determine one can.

Here is why Oscar Rodriguez was treated horribly — “for planning to say the word “God” in speech. The prohibited language in Rodriguez’ short, famous presentation includes: “God bless our flag. God bless our troops. God bless America.” [And let me reiterate] Retiring veteran Chuck Roberson invited Mr. Rodriguez to give the speech. It was to occur during the solemn flag-folding portion of Roberson’s private retirement ceremony on the base.”

And to emphasize how absurd this is and why Lt. Col. Sovitsky must be reprimanded, “He [Rodriguez] has given his 340-word speech on the flag over 100 times. A member of Congress has commended the speech, and Rodriguez has been praised for his military service on the floor of the U.S. Senate.”

This is unacceptable and Major General John C. Flournoy, Jr. and COL Raymond A. Kozak are the Commanding Officers of Lt. Col. Sovitsky. It’s time we let the U.S. Air Force and our military know “We the People” are sick and tired of this. What could be more appropriate at the flag-folding of a retirement ceremony of an American serviceman that to ask for God’s blessing of our flag, our troops, and our America? In one day we see the face of the progressive socialists and the secular humanists. They would rather redact the statements of an Islamic jihadist yet forcibly handle a retired veteran speaking of God.

Yes, Lt. Col Michael Sovitsky, you have earned the infamous FUBAR award!
