In wake of Orlando attack, gay activists call on Obama to do this…

In the wake of the most horrific domestic terror attack since 9/11, progressives are predictably rushing to blame just about everything BUT what appears to be the root cause of today’s massacre: radical Islam. Guns are, of course, at the center of the blame target, while some are even more astonishingly suggesting blame lies with “toxic masculinity” and a “global culture of imperialist homophobia” (honestly, not even quite sure what that means).

We have yet to see someone on the left openly connect the dots between what happened this morning — an attack by an ISIS follower targeted specifically at gays — and radical Islam’s condemnation of homosexuals. This is something that is not just well known, but also well documented in the Quran and Sharia law.

However, as much as the left, starting with the president on down, love to tout how staunchly they “fight” for LGBT rights, this Islam-fueled attack on gays just doesn’t fit their narrative and ideological agenda — hence, silence.

But at least one gay activist group is speaking out today and calling on President Obama to speak the words he is so loathe to utter, even when it’s smacking him upside the head.

Via Breitbart:

The gay advocacy group Log Cabin Republicans is calling for President Obama to acknowledge “Radical Islamic terrorism” as the cause of the Orlando nightclub shooting.

Omar Mateen’s killing of 50 people [Note: death toll has now been updated to 59] inside the gay club Pulse has confused progressive commentators torn between their advocacy against homophobia and their loyalties to the Islam religion, which in all forms forbids homosexuality.

Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton made a careful statement calling the shooting both an act of “terror” and also an act of “hate.” But the conservative gay community wants radical Islam to be confronted.

“Domestic terrorism has struck once again on American soil, in a direct attack on the LGBT community of the United States — during Pride Month, no less,” Log Cabin Republicans President Gregory T. Angelo said in a statement provided to Breitbart News:

It’s no secret that abroad men who are gay — and merely suspected of being gay — are targeted for execution; today, that threat has reached the United States. Log Cabin Republicans extends our deepest sympathy, condolences, and sorrow to the victims and families of those targeted in this morning’s violence. If the shooter’s suspected motivations are indeed confirmed, we call upon President Obama and the presumptive nominees of both parties to condemn the attacker and acknowledge in no uncertain terms the cause of this massacre: Radical Islamic terrorism.

One would think those who are so fond of touting their avid support for LGBT rights would be ALL OVER addressing this real and very present threat to the community. But, tragically for these 53 souls who lost their lives today — and the dozens more injured — this attack by radical Islam directly targeted at gays doesn’t fit the progressive agenda. So it will continue to use this to further its gun control agenda, while ignoring the growing threat to Americans — and, as we see from the Orlando massacre, a specific threat to the LGBT community.

Tragically, it would appear progressives’ support of gay rights are superseded by their commitment to an ideological agenda that inexplicably refuses to see radical Islam for what it is.
