UNREAL: ISIS urges ‘month of Jihad’ in US; Obama responds…

In case you missed it, the Islamic holy month of Ramadan kicked off yesterday.

According to Islamic practice, sacrifice during Ramadan can be considered more valuable than that made at other times. So if you’re ISIS, the month of Ramadan is an ideal time to carry out extra credit jihad — perhaps racking up a few extra virgins in the process.

And that’s exactly what Islamic State leaders are urging this month, calling on jihadist to carry out terror attacks during Ramadan for a “month of conquest and jihad.” And not just anywhere, but specifically and especially to make it a “calamity” for “nonbelievers” in America and Europe.

As the Washington Free Beacon reports:

A U.S. government advisory warned that ISIS attacks, either directly sponsored or simply inspired by the group’s rhetoric, could be carried out during Islam’s month of Ramadan that begins June 5.

In the video, ISIS spokesman Abu Mohammad al-Adnani called on jihadists to “get prepared, be ready … to make it a month of calamity everywhere for nonbelievers…especially for the fighters and supporters of the caliphate in Europe and America.”

A report by the State Department-led Overseas Security Advisory Council said the threat could be credible because three deadly terror attacks took place last year shortly after Adnani issued a similar call to arms.

“According to Islamic practice, sacrifice during Ramadan can be considered more valuable than that made at other times, so a call to martyrdom during the month may hold a special allure to some,” the report said.

So, what might you expect from our president? Well, if you’ve been following along the past seven plus years, you won’t be surprised in the least to know that, of course, President Obama sent out his annual Ramadan greeting — with a couple additional special touches this year of doubling down on his commitment to welcome refugees, while taking a swipe at the presumptive GOP nominee who dared suggest we consider pausing the process until we can be sure we’re admitting them safely.

Via ABC News:

President Obama took a veiled swipe at Donald Trump Sunday in a statement celebrating the holy Islamic month of Ramadan.

Without mentioning the presumptive GOP nominee by name, the president reaffirmed his commitment to welcoming immigrants and refugees, despite “voices that seek to divide us.”

“I stand firmly with Muslim American communities in rejection of the voices that seek to divide us or limit our religious freedoms or civil rights,” the president said. “I stand committed to safeguarding the civil rights of all Americans no matter their religion or appearance.”

He later added, “We will continue to welcome immigrants and refugees into our nation, including those who are Muslim.”

What’s underneath Obama’s last comment, unspoken, “and yeah, if we let some terrorists in who kill Americans, because our vetting process is flawed, so be it.”

On the other hand, Donald Trump isn’t backing down.

Trump doubled down on his call for a temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States in an interview Sunday with CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

“I’m not backing down,” he said. “We have to do something. We have a problem in this country. We have a radical Islamic terrorism problem in this country, and, by the way, throughout the world, throughout the world. It’s a problem.”

When you look at a situation like this, you see just one of many examples of how Trump’s popularity is in many ways a direct response to the last seven years of Obama.
